We have the 22kW Generac running the entire house. The system does its maintenance run automatically each week. Our first power outage lasted 43 hours. We checked the generator oil after 24 hours and it was fine so we turned it back on. Our propane consumption during that period was appriximately 0.8 gallons/hour. We were using the electric oven when the power went out and, while we could see the lights go down for an instant when oven element kicked on, overall the house power worked perfectly.

The Generac installation was a matter of eliminating the potential for another long-term electrical outage as had occurred 18 +/- months ago. I have every confidence that the device will function when it is needed, although the need has not occurred since it was installed. It was a matter of not wanting the inconvenience or losses from an electrical outage when I could afford to prevent it. With the device auto-starting weekly, which is not offensive to my home's community, I feel assured that I have done what's necessary to maintain my home and lifestyle regardless of the periodic failure of my local utility to provide power 100% of the time. I am sufficiently satisfied such that I am in the final stages of installation of an identical unit for my "other" home where my son and his family live. The idea is to have it and not need it instead of needing it and not having it. It is a lot better than having a portable gasoline-powered generator which must be connected for use if ever needed (especially when being away for long periods might preclude the ability to re-power the house).

Ed and his crew were very professional, timely and efficient… The unit was installed, completed and running in one day. This is our first winter storm season that we have the unit. It works GREAT and does exactly what Ed said it would do in a power outage!

I bought one of the first automatic standby Generacs years ago. I hope the new one is as good as the old. The old one was plug and play on the wiring. New one is more difficult on wiring. Have to call or go on Internet to activate. They don't want the average homeowner to install, that's a missed opportunity. Good unit so far.

For the cost, quality, & customer support of this unit, I can rest at ease knowing the long term ice storms, wind, or any other event that causes a power outage will not be an issue. Setting up that old generator with power cords, filling gas cans in freezing rain and in the dark is over. My water is hot, TV is on and Fridge/freezer is cold. Cheap insurance & a great investment backed by an unmatched warranty. Thanks Gernerac!!

Extremely happy with product and the installers I had. Just had it installed in first part of December. Our power goes out quite frequently in our area so I figure the unit will pay for itself in 3-4 years. I maintain all my equipment on a yearly basis so I will have to wait and see how reliable the unit is. I just can't say enough about the installers, the absolute best I have came across in 20 years I have lived here.

The generator has been right on schedule with the test runs each week and ran well when my installer initially tested it. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars yet is because it hasn't truly been tested in reality yet.... we haven't yet lost power and had our "smart" generator automatically turn on. If we do and it does, for as long as necessary, I will enthusiastically give it 5 stars!

Due to the long time it took to get gas service installed, my generator has only been in service for about a month. So far it has done its thing by starting and running once a week for self diagnostics. I have had one outage on my outside electrical service caused by a small animal, and the unit started in a few seconds and carried the house until external service was restored. Transfer back was very quick, so quick that I did not even notice the transfer and did not need to reset the clock on my microwave.

We are very happy with our Generac Home generator. It compliments our home. It is placed strategically to appear as a very important feature of our home. To date the unit has supplied us with power on just one occasion, an auto accident took out our power for six hours. The unit worked just as we were told it would, so while our neighbors were without power we had a normal day with all our utilities working just as they should. Thus far, we have been very impressed with the Generac unit.

It's a good feeling knowing that we will not lose power to the house if the power goes out for some reason. I live in Florida just a few miles from the Treasure Coast so we are subject to the impact of Hurricanes. In fact, not long after we moved here in late September, we experienced Hurricane Mathew and the power to our house went out shortly after the winds reached Tropical Storm Strength. I had a portable small generator (3000 Watt) that I connected to the main panel to power a few lights, the refrigerator and even the TV. Although that was nice, having no AC was a little trying and the pool pump being out had a small affect on the water quality. Now we have the whole house Generac Generator that has been installed and tested. It will carry the whole house including the AC and the Pool Equipment (Heater and all). It is a good feeling to know that if we do lose power again, even for a long period, we will have our own little power supply to keep us comfy, assuming the Storm doesn't destroy the house to the point we can't stay in it! :-(
