This is rather small and heavy.  It appears to have some nice padding for the lower back when carrying, but the padding is bulky.  It does make carrying a rifle easier.  I wouldn't buy it again.

Not what I expected

Nice backpack, light and compact. Good for one-day use. Price-point is great. But, if you are purchasing it for the rifle-carry pocket/feature and are willing to spend more money, look at other options. The way the pocket attaches to the backpack is inherently weak and cumbersome. If you use it to regularly carry a rifle, it won't last long; may be one or two seasons; especially if you have a heavier rifle. But, other backpacks with this feature are much more expensive. So, you decide how to balance the price-point vs rifle-carry feature depending on your situation.
