After checking reviews on several tires for my 2002 Chevy Suburban, 4wd i settled on my first set of Michelin tires. Had about 40,000 miles on the vehicle at the time in 2005. The present milage is 150,000. Two tires were changed at 140000 due to a large puncture. Two are still running but will be changed in the next three weeks. They have not worn to the indicators and have no sign of drying. Probably an equal use of highway, pulling a 16 foot cargo trailer, and in town driving. Quiet and the milage. Mind you I rotated the tires every 10000 miles and kept them balanced and the front end alligned.

Only now am I forced to replace the front tires, and that's primarily due to my AWD 4Runner's tendency to abuse the front rubber (and a September registration renewal). Rear tires have 15K+ miles of tread remaining, and this is from a guy who pays little attention to air pressures. Michelin has never disappointed me, and even though there are less expensive options, they are also cheaper in almost every respect. My next purchase will be another set of Defenders, without question.

I have bought two pairs of these tires over the years. The first set of tires came on my pre-owned Lexus GX470, and they lasted until 80K miles. I replaced them with the same Michelin LTX Defenders and the second set made it 80K miles and still had plenty of tread life. I needed new TPMS sensors and the sidewalls on the 80K mile tires were showing signs of cracking (dry rot from the sun). I figured that I had already gotten my moneys worth out of those tires and decided to replace them. I now have my third set of Defenders on the GX470 and have put approximately 10K miles on them in the last year. They still look like new. The rubber wear indicators are still there. These are amazing tires. The ride quality and noise is very good, and I would not hesitate to put them on a "luxury truck." I take the truck hunting and have been off road with these tires. No problem with traction. I have attached photos of my year old tires with about 10K miles on them.

The LTX MS are the best tires I have ever used in my 28 year driving experience in terms mileage and overall performance. They could be a little quieter. The tires were the original equipment for my 2009 Honda Ridgeline. I am now on 97,500 miles and the tires have not yet reached the wear indicators. I must admit that I am driving 80% highway in Florida and the tires are not being abused by offroad and winter conditions. Handling is great and you could not expect a better performance on wet roads including summer tropical down pours that we experience in Florida. Great product.

I think these tires should receive 5 stars but the price are on the high side. When I go into tire stores I have to hagel with them for my Michelins. I have three trucks and my daughter has two. All but one has Michelins on them. When it's time for the Explorer I'll put Michelin on it. I like not to keep buying tires, I'd like to buy them once.

Always had luck with Michelin tires until I purchased 4 defender tires for my ram pickup. The loud whine is unbearable on blacktop roads. A little quieter on concrete but still loud. Unfortunately I waited longer than 30 days to return them.. seriously considering buying new tires even though only 2500 miles on these

We were on a cross country trip. The passenger car tires were not holding up to pulling a trailer. With a sense of urgency we purchased new tires. Had never purchased Michelins before as I thought they were over rated and over priced. The tires were the only thing in stock in my size so the purchase was made. Putting the LT tires on the van greatly reduced the side to side sway and increased overall stability and safety. Even with the trailer unhitched there was a marked improvement in handling. The van now has a bit harsher ride due to the LT tires. It is worth the truck like feel for better stability. Being light in the rear I had always had problems in rain and snow. Now my wife is not afraid to drive the van on wet roads and light snow. Rotating on a regular basis I was able to get 80,000 miles out of these tires. And yes they were replaced with the same tire.

The tires are quiet and give a good ride. However, after 4.5 yrs and 38K miles, two of them are dry rotting and the tread is almost gone off of the other two. I sliced one open around some road construction so I am going to buy another set and see if this was just a fluke. I have had success with past Michelin tires, my last set lasted 80k miles.

As my post states, Michelin tires are the standard when it comes to reliability, control and comfort. They have always been a great passenger tire because they offer a superior ride, allow you to maintain control in the harshest of weather and rarely fail (no one's perfect). They've been under my minivan since the day it was purchased (8 years ago) and sure, they cost a little more but I wouldn't risk my family's safety on anything less.

I purchased a new set of Michelin Defender LTX M/S tires to replace my worn tires on my Honda CR-V. I did about two months of research and found the Defenders to be the best value for what I needed in snow and highway conditions. I can not express how disappointed I am with the handling and ride comfort of these tires. The slightest gust of wind nearly knocks me off of the road as well as extreme vibrations at 60 - 70 mph. Cornering and fast manuvering is nearly impossible and extremly dangerous at highway speeds. I have had these tires rebalanced twice as well as having my CR-V looked over by the Honda dealership to see if it was a problem with my car. I was told by the dealership that it was the new Defenders I had installed and that there are no issues with my vehicle. This was my first and will be my last Michelin purchase.
