Mold yuck

I don't know how many times I have bought these like other produce. Mold all the time. I went in the store and talked to their "manager or front end whatever" and they are "aware and can't do anything about their shipments". So why sell food with mold? Check your produce!

organic or not....depends

We try to buy organic products when available. Sams is not the best place to find a good selection of organic fruit and vegetables. An interesting observation about strawberries. Sometimes they are labeled organic and sometimes they are not. The label is from the same farm/shipper. What gives here? They are 2 different products that Sams seems to interchange as the same. IS there not a market for both?

Not so good

More then half of them weren't so fresh and not really good to eat. so I had to throw them away. maybe it's because of the season already over? or I don't know.. but such a waste having to throw 2 lbs of them away. will not be getting them anymore. I'll try some of the other fruits the next time.. another trip soon just for to get some other fruit..

Great tasting and sweet

Every Sam's might be a bit different, but here in N. FL I have only gotten some of the best Strawberries this year. Ripe and Sweet, I have bought them 3 times in the 2 lb tray... Looking forward to buying more this week, I just clean them and cut them when I get home and put them in refrigerator and we all just eat-em as we go...

Terrible. Mold on them when picked up.

This is twice in a row that I have picked up 2- 2 lbs of strawberries that were awful! Some already had mold on them. I figured the first time may have been a fluke, but having it happen twice isn't a fluke. Even thought I put the strawberries in a specialty produce container, to keep fresher than without it, they still got bad and moldy very fast. Unacceptable.

Furry after lessthan 48 hours

I'm really careful about buying fruit, I ALWAYS check to make sure that it is fresh. I check it in the store as best I can and I check it more thoroughly once I get it home. The last batch I bought was totally furry a day and a half after I got it home. Not just one or two, I mean the whole top layer. GROSS

Strawberries/Raspberries/Blackberries/Blueberries

As to the Strawberries, this store puts the product out on a table near the entrance without refrigiration for what is supposed to be no more than 4 hours but no one keeps a record to make sure this is done. Quite frankly I do not want any period of room temperature since I still have to drive it home. However, for that last 2 weeks there has not been any Strawberries. There is also a ‘fuzz’problem with the Rasberries and Blackberries. As to the Blueberries, the problem is two fold, first, the container is not ‘full’ and seems light (There are no scales to check the claimed weight) and, second, every so often there is no tape holding the lid shut which means it pops open when the checkout person attempts to scan the item. It is called 52 berry pickup. On one such occasion I came in 2 days after buying those Blueberries and NO ONE had yet done anything to tape the containers. I have been a member for over 19 years and until a month ago I had never seen the store manager on the floor. When I saw him I asked whether his predecessors were in the Federal Witness Protection Program. As a side note, I need to use the electric cart. More than half the time they are unaware where they are or whether they are fully charged, let alone having them in working order and with all their parts in good shape, like the failure to replace ripped rubber seats or fixing the plastic body which has cracked pieces and sharp sections that have broken off. No one seems to be responsible for their maintenance. Sometimes, several broken electric carts can sit there for several days, even more than a week waiting for the repair person to show up.

Poor quality , moldy

I bought this item this week at the State College Pa location. I discovered on opening the package that approximately half the berries were either growing mold or weeping because they were overripe. Quality of fruit offered in this Sam’s location has gone done significantly.

Sweet & Tasty

The strawberries when in season are large, sweet, and very tasty. I do not buy fruit/veggies when out of season. You can see a significant size difference when fruit begins to go out of season. They taste different as well. So stick to in season buying and you won’t be disappointed. It’s not hard to look up when certain fruits/veggies are in season

Crunchy strawberries?

I bought this batch of strawberries a few days ago and was very dissatisfied by the crunchy bite. I felt as if I was biting a apple instead of a soft juicy strawberry. The entire center was white and my toddler couldn’t even chew through it because it was so firm. And the nerve of having to pay nearly $8 for these just to throw away!
