Not hormel but it'll do

A few months back they got rid of hormel ready cook black label bacon and this was the replacement. Other stores have it and this store doesn't carry it anymore. It's subpar. My daughter says it smells like dog food treats. Haha We hate cooking bacon so loved the precooked bacon from hormel black label but this is not a the best replacement, they could have chosen.

Good in a pinch, but it is NOT 72 pieces anymore. It's 36 pieces cut in half!

Thank you for sharing your review. Our Fully Cooked Bacon is pre-cooked and can be eaten straight from the package or heated in the microwave for a few seconds to achieve a more crispy texture.

Yummy!

Tastes great and I don’t mind that it’s thin. It’s crispy and delicious. Much better taste than the hormel. Will absolutely keep buying it.

Shrinkflation???

I have been buying this for a long time and always enjoyed it. The last pack I purchased were thin narrow strips half the width that they usually are. What's with that?? I will not purchase if this is how it is now.

Not a good deal any longer

I've bought this for a long time. They now cut the bacon so thin you have to cook an entire package to make BLTs and actually taste bacon. It's convenient but no longer great.

Really good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product was unexpectedly delicious. I wouldn't say it's better to freshly cooked bacon but it's a close second place! I would definitely choose to purchase this and crumble it on a salad rather than bacon bits!

bring back hormel

My club recently started carrying this precooked bacon (Smithfield) instead of precooked Hormel. It is much worse. Swimming in fat vs. Hormel, which is not. Both are thin, but this product is not good. Sam’s seems to love changing to inferior products. The Sam’s is true for their real bacon pieces (bits), as the new is fattier and the old Hormel was leaner with more actual meat.

Good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I tried Smithfield original bacon and it was really good. I wouldn’t say it was any different than others I’ve tried. I would recommend this product to others but the price is a little higher than I usually like to spend on this product
