I used to swear by these Command Strips, but now I will never use them for decorating again. Seconds after I sat down on the couch with my one year old, an 8x10 picture frame that had been up on the wall for 3 years suddenly came crashing down. The corner of the frame split my eyebrow, hit my eye, and scraped the skin underneath. I’m just thankful my son wanted to sit in my lap instead of next to me or else it would have hit him directly on the top of his little head. As a result I have taken down every frame I used Command Strips on.

Don't think I would do it on a heavy framed pic. I can see this for certain areas where hanging with hooks would not work.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My home has old horse hair plaster walls and it is not easy to hang pictures as I can't always easily get the nail or hook where I want it. But now I can decorate my walls without worry now that I have found Commands variety of picture hanging strips. It was great to be able to mark the wall exactly where I wanted to put the strips and know that they were level and then attach the other strip to the picture, put into place with no mess. And if I decide to redecorate (which I do a lot) I am not stuck with extra holes that need to be filled and repainted. Thanks Command!

Step 5 says to pull the frame off the wall (then wait 1 hour to remount). When I did so the bottom left strip pulled off the wall - taking a chunk of plaster with it. Now I am worried that the three remaining strips won't be strong enough to hold the 7 pound frame on the wall, AND I have a hole in my plaster. The little fasteners sure are strong. Maybe too strong.

I had to hang several picures and I new better than put holes in the wall {you know if you are married] I had seen your ads and I had my doughts but I tried them anyway and was I ever suprise how easy and strong it was. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife and I bought the picture hanging strips to hang a bunch of pictures in our camper. Because as you know the walls are not that thick in a camper. Well they worked great. You have to make sure you clean every side good it tells you that on the package. But let me tell you it is simple and they hold fantastic. What is really nice is you can adjust the picture if your wife puts it up crooked "hehe" or maybe the husband. That in itself is a great reason to buy them not a one time shot you can remove and straighten them. If you move the pictures or take them down "NO HOLE".

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ok, I didn't use the picture hook to hang a picture. I put it on my bathroom door to hang my bathrobe. That was 6 months ago. The hook is still securely holding up. My bathrobe is thick, long & heavy. I had my doubts the hook would hold up. But it has!

I used four pairs of the large hanging strips for an 8x11 frame. It was not heavy and I followed the directions. It still fell off the wall and broke the frame. You're much better off buying a box of pictures nails. It'll cost 1/100th of the price and will actually work.

Your picture hangings products provide an alternate to nails or other hole making inserts into walls or woodwork. It holds, and is easy to replace as adverised. I keep Command products in stock because I am always looking for more framed artwork, family photos or posters to hand on my walls. Great product. Thank you.

I used them to hold up a bulletin board and they worked great and held the weight as promised. However when I went to remove the bulletin board the velcro didn't release and it tore the paint and texture off the wall making repair and repaint necessary.
