No holes in plaster walls

My nickname is hanging nut, but my husband's nickname is no more holes in our plaster walls. Our house is 84 years old with 13 inch plaster walls. So after repainting, I decided to buy Command picture hanging strips. We also have 20 grandchildren and each of their picture is hung separately. Then there is a grouping of 6 wedding pictures (our childrens) and a grouping of our children as babies, our wedg.picture and the wedding pctrs of grandparents & great grndprnts. That is just in the family room. The bedroom has even more. They have all been hanging for over 2 years now and I have only had one fall down, and that was because the paper backing on the picture ripped. So easy to do! And my husband is happy.

Rips pieces of wall off every time

Definitely not damage free, all of these strips are awful. The tab breaks off from the bottom so you have to try to pry it off the wall without it. Every type of strip I’ve used has torn off the paint and the drywall paper under it. So many spots to patch.

So much for my vintage frames

I created an amazing collage wall from my collection of vintage frames. I followed all instructions because I did not want anything to happen to my collection. Everything was fine for about three months and then they all started falling off. I lost 4 of them before I finally took the whole wall down. It would be fine, except that one of them ripped the paint and plaster from the wall. Now I have to repair the spot and repaint it, plus repair the frame. Awesome. No short cuts people. These things are worthless. Just hammer in a nail.

Lousy

I used four pairs of the large hanging strips for an 8x11 frame. It was not heavy and I followed the directions. It still fell off the wall and broke the frame. You're much better off buying a box of pictures nails. It'll cost 1/100th of the price and will actually work.

Never Let me Down

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My entire house is full of art and 99% is hung by Command! At first I wasn't sure about switching to the strips from the tradition Command picture hooks but now I am completely sold as they eliminate the need for hardware.

Buy a nail instead

Dont waste your time with this product. Adhesive failed on back of a wood frame, and in some cases the painted wall. Rubbing alcohol will leave streaks in your painted wall. Leveling the painting can be difficult unless you have some help. I dont think that these would be along term solution, and the time to hang one picture could be long. Does this product have a shelf life? The backing was difficult to remove. So, unless your hanging something on a cinder block/concrete wall, or if your hanging something in a rented space where the owners say no holes in the wall, avoid this product.

JUNK PRODUCT

I purchased and installed Large Picture Hanging Strip 6 months ago. Used it for a metal wall decoration which is well below the recommended weight for this product. The hanger separated from the wall strip on one side, the wall decoration crashed down and broke! It fell onto my wooden headboard and damaged it!

Gotta love it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] They work great. I wish I would have known about them years ago before I put so many nail holes in the wall. I also use them to stick my burglar alarm stations on my windows and door frames. I am sure that there are a plethora of uses for their products. I COMMAND you to buy and use these. LOL Note: I wish they would make some device that would strongly hold to the wall. When I put one in with other things they eventually come out of the wall.

Caused An Injury

I used to swear by these Command Strips, but now I will never use them for decorating again. Seconds after I sat down on the couch with my one year old, an 8x10 picture frame that had been up on the wall for 3 years suddenly came crashing down. The corner of the frame split my eyebrow, hit my eye, and scraped the skin underneath. I’m just thankful my son wanted to sit in my lap instead of next to me or else it would have hit him directly on the top of his little head. As a result I have taken down every frame I used Command Strips on.

Command Strips

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love the Command Strips and Hooks. I use them everywhere in my home from hanging artwork, photo frams, photo boards, cork pin boards, coat hooks, backpack hooks, brooms, thick posters, hanging blowdryers out of the way. When I'm ready to move the location of something, I just pull the tab, it pops off the wall without leaving a mark. I don't have to have hammer, nails, spackle, or any of that stuff you can never put your fingers on or need someone to help with. Within minutes you can mount or reposition something with no worries. I pick up a pack of strips each time I go to the store.
