Fail over time

I used these to hang a group of pictures in my new home. They are basically just a 5x7 picture and glass with colored tape on the sides so the weight is 1 lb. or less. I very much liked using the Command strips, it made hanging very easy. After approx. 4 months one of the pictures fell and the glass broke. I repaired that one. Then today I found another had fallen and broken the glass. I took all the photos down (7 total) and placed a nail back-up to save any more broken glass. They're fine for keeping a photo straight on the wall but I won't be using them as a stand alone mounting again. FYI It was the adhesive that let go, not the Velcro. This is in a new home with freshly painted new dry wall.

picture hanging for your camper

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently used the picture hanging strips to hang the panoramic picture we gave my husband for Father's Day of our baseball stadium, Target Field, in our camper. One of our favorite summertime things to do is camp and also listen to the MN Twins. Now we have a photo of the field in our camper and I don't have to put any holes in the camper walls or worry about the picture falling and getting damaged! It's safely mounted and travels with us!

Huge mistake

I bought these to put up all home decor since I was renting and when I to removed them as instructed most of them still pulled off the paint and texture!! Way more noticeable then a nail hole would have been. Now I get to pay for repairs. The spots of missing paint are every noticeable since that are almost the size of the strips themselves. Nails are cheaper and do less damage to walls!

Disappointing!

I bought these to hang picture frames in a collage.. I was weary of using this product, concerned that it wouldn't hold.. I went ahead and tried them out because I wanted the frames to stay straight, hate when pictures end up crooked over time. I made sure I bought the strips for the frame sizes and off I went. Well to my disappointment what I was afraid would happen, did! The frames started falling of the wall, shattering on the ground.. I quickly started removing frames that were still attached, these too were about ready to fall! I lost a total of 5 frames, I was very disappointed! Luckily no one was in the room while this happened. I will never use these again, sticking with the old fashion ways and using nails/screws to hang anything in the future.. To top it off these strips are pretty expensive!

Terrible product

This product is terrible. I used them according to manufacturers instructions and every single picture I had fell off the wall within hours. I have very light and small frames I tried to use them on and they still fell, even when using the large/heavy strips. It’s very disheartening because the product is not cheap and it is nothing but money wasted. Very, very poor product.

Great for my office

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just started at a new job, and my work area did not have any place to put the picture of my kids that I keep on my desk. My main office wall is a plaster partition; I didn't know if the structure would even support something hung from a nail. Also, the owner of the firm is planning on moving our office within the next year, so I want to limit the repair work that might be required. I used these hangers for the photo of my kids and a few hanging file pockets. About two weeks after I arrived, I got some additional storage space for my files. I removed the file pockets and the hangers and there is absolutely no sign that anything had ever been attached to the wall. Great product that works exactly as it says it will.

Tore a chunk of plaster off the wall

Step 5 says to pull the frame off the wall (then wait 1 hour to remount). When I did so the bottom left strip pulled off the wall - taking a chunk of plaster with it. Now I am worried that the three remaining strips won't be strong enough to hold the 7 pound frame on the wall, AND I have a hole in my plaster. The little fasteners sure are strong. Maybe too strong.

Disappointed

This product did not live up to expectations. Within 1 week, all items that we hung with the Command Strips had fallen off the wall. All directions had been followed to a "T", and still we were awakened in the middle of the night to the sound of decorations crashing to the floor.

Simply Don't Work/Will Break your Frames

My husband and I just moved, so have been in the process of decorating our new home. I have always been hesitant to use these products for fear of falling frames, but I thought since we had so many frames to hang that we would give them a try rather than pounding a ton of nail holes into our walls. I started with smaller to medium size frames (5×7, 8x10, etc) and to date they have held well with small and medium sized strips. It's been several weeks since we've hung them. We then decided to use the large strips to hang a couple more expensive 19x23 frames - well under the recommended size and weight capacities. After only a couple weeks the first of the frames fell and not only completely busted the frame but damaged the chair rail on the wall as the frame fell. We followed the instructions completely, so will not be using this product again for anything larger than an 8x10 or any other frame we are fond of. I would not recommend to anyone and will be returning to traditional picture hangers immediately.

Great! Until you have to take them down.

Maybe its because they were on my wall for a year, but when I went to remove the strips from my walls, about half of them broke before I got the whole thing off the wall (tore in two). Of the 33 pictures I had in my hallway, 12 holes in the paint remain as a result of either the strip ripping in two while I was trying to remove it or because it ripped the paint off before I was done. The largest hole is about two inches across and 1 inch up and down (it just kept coming up). The smallest one is about .5 inch by .25 inch (most are close to this size). I bought oodles of these things because I didn't want to put any holes in the walls. Boy was I wrong. Oh and at random intervals during the past year, three of my pictures just fell off the wall (the whole apparatus detached from the wall, not my picture).
