However, if the soap isn't completely rinsed off, or if the dishes have become worn to the point of being porous, it’s possible. It may be helpful to know that cast iron and plastic items in particular can absorb flavors. We suggest not soaking porous items, and making sure to wash them immediately and to rinse thoroughly. As well, this product isn’t meant to have an off-odor, but it may smell differently than intended when mixed with certain foods.
