I used to be a faithful Downy user. No more. First of all, if you shake it as the directions say, it pours out all over the place, not just from the spout. But the absolutely worst thing about it is that for some reason, it now leaves big blue spots all over my sheets and clothes. Sure they go away when I wash them again, but who wants that? I have tried many other fabric softeners and Downy is the only one that has ever left spots on my clothes. I've been using the "cheap" April fresh Downy since all the other products are ridiculously expensive in my opinion. I live alone so am only doing the wash for one person, but even so, I can find a lot better uses for the money I would spend on all the other Downy products.

The first thing I noticed was the scent, it smells really good and the scent lasts long. I'm someone who has to do at least 4 loads of laundry each week and I usually use a scent booster, but with this I have no need to. That's great because it ends up being one less thing I have to buy!

I've been using Downy for years and years...it's the ONLY fabric softener I have used! UNTIL NOW!! I bought Downy a few days ago...only looked for the April Fresh scent listed on it...washed my clothes, walked into my laundry room and couldn't believe the SMELL ...actually it smelled like old clothes that had been sitting around...or maybe a generic detergent! I examined the clothes...smelled my Cheer bottle...smelled the Downy and then knew what was wrong...looked at the label and saw FABRIC PROTECT! omg...it's HORRIBLE and CERTAINLY NOT APRIL FRESH! YOU GUYS MESSED UP WHEN YOU ADDED "PEARLS" a few years ago...but NOW YOU'VE LOST A CUSTOMER!!! (and by the looks of things, more than `1 ) It wasn't broke...why did you mess it up??? Unless you bring back the original/or even latest Downy, I won't be buying anymore! In fact, I'm hoping I'll be able to get my money back...going back to the store tomorrow!! THE SMELL OF THIS IS HORRIBLE....WHAT WERE YOU PEOPLE THINKING?? AND if you wash clothes properly, that will protect them enough...WE DON'T NEED YOU PROTECTING OUR CLOTHES!!!! Wondering if the dryer sheets are messed up, also??? LOOKING FOR ANOTHER FABRIC SOFTENER PRONTO!!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I happen to love Downy. It's safe to use in my front end washing machine. My clothes smell fresh out of the dryer for a couple weeks after washing. This is a product that I had already used/ had in my home. I have had compliments on the smell of my clothing. The credit goes to the Downy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great fabric softener! Not only is the scent wonderful, but the softener did the trick! On bedding, blankets and clothing it left it all so soft. Honestly, the only item it wasn't so great on was my husband's boxer shorts. Left him a little itchy. But no issues with any other clothing items. I certainly plan on buying this in the future!

It smells absolutely amazing & really leaves my fabric incredibly soft and wrinkle/static free. A little goes a long way with this product. As someone who is constantly battling with static in their home, this product has really made a huge difference. I can't wait to use this on all of my bedding & curtains to bring this lovely scent in my entire home. Would highly recommend!

I stopped using dryer sheets and switched to dryer balls a few months ago because I hated that weird film the clothes seemed to get. The Downey liquid didn’t leave that film at all and the smell isn’t too strong. I don’t have a specific place in my washer for softener, so I just had to add it in the bottom with the soap so I may not be getting the full benefits. Once my bottle is empty, I will purchase another one.

It is such a soft and comforting scent. Plus it reduces wrinkles and helps keep colors bright! What more could I ask for?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This laundry softener in my opinion is just ok. I don’t notice any significant difference in my laundry other than a slight scent which is nice. I prefer a different brand that smells better. I Also have not noticed a significant difference in the softness of my clothes. Either way, it’s a decent product just not something that stands above the rest in my opinion
