Replacing tires at 15,000 miles

I have Premier LTX on my 2017 Acadia. I have been told they need to be replaced at 15,000 miles. These came with the car. One person who looked at them said they were peeling. I need to replace them but I don't know with what. I am afraid to buy Michelin. It would be nice if the company would do something. I'm 45000 short of the warranty.

Worn out at 2.5 yr/40K mi

OEM tires on 2018 Lexus RX 450hL expecting close to 60K mi wear. Only 2-1/2 years and 40K mi and told by dealership new tires needed. At 30K tread at 5/32, but now at 40K tread at 3/32. Probably be at 2/32 by the time I figure out a good replacement. Disappointed is putting it mildly!

They wear fast!

Bought these tires about 18 months ago for our Lexus RX350. They have 16,000 miles on them and are already worn down to 4/32. We will probably have to replace them later this year. Warranty requires them to wear down to 2/32 before they will prorate them. Thats not safe. Our driving is combined city and highway. We have them rotated with each tire change. There is no reason for this type of wear so quickly, except for the characteristics of the tire. Will try something different next time.

The worst wearing tires I have ever owned

These tires are factory (OEM) and original to the 2019 Lexus RX350 as purchased new. I have been a Michelin purchaser for 40 yrs. These tires are the absolute worst with respect to tread wear. As a professional pilot, I'm rather fastidious about checking and maintaining certain aspects of a vehicle. These tires have been rotated as scheduled and routinely ensure pressure is 33 psi as per the manufacturers spec. At 15K, I perceived abnormal wear. At 20K, I notified Lexus that these are not 60K tires. At 25K, I asked Lexus if these were a known to be 'bad batch' needing a recall and if they are covered under an implied warranty of merchantability. I've coaxed 35K out of these and now replacement is needed. It appears this model Lexus also came equipped Bridgestone tires. I would wager those vehicles faired better. Apparently, Michelin is no longer the highly regarded symbol of a quality tire.

Definitely Impressed

I know little about cars but these tires lasted me thru the last four years... I have lived in two countries with these tires and driven just over 56,000 miles without the need to get new tires. With hitting 60,000 miles soon, I am looking to get new tires and definitely considering the same Premium 245's.

Disappointed in durability

Tires purchased July 2017 from dealership. Stopped at a trusted local repair shop last week due a slow leak caused by a nail. It was recommended tires be replaced due to wear. Have only 30 k miles since the replacement, and this will be the 3rd set of tires on a vehicle with only 70 k miles in 7.5 years. All local driving, but faithfully rotate tires.

Poor performance!!

Went to the dealer for a 27,00 mile service and was told I would have to replace my tires at the end of the lease. The lease expires in December 2019. I have leased cars and SUV's for over 35 years and never had to replace tires before I returned the car. That is why I lease cars!!

Misleading mileage rating!

I put Michelin's Premier LTX tires on our Infiniti QX60 in March of 2020. And in just 17 months and less than 25,000 miles, all 4 tires are down to almost 4/32”! I've rotated and balance the tires religiously! Bottom line, by our next rotation, all 4 tires will need replacement! In my opinion, to advertise and market these as having an expected 60,000 mile tread life is absolutely misleading! And to charge the premium price for what should be a 30k tire is obscene! Check the web…I'm not the only one having this experience!

POOR TREAD LIFE

I have purchased many sets of Michelin tires for many vehicles and have always obtained a tread life of 60000+ miles. I purchased a set of Premier LTX tires for my 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee about 2 years ago and my local Jeep dealer recently warned me that they are worn out and need replaced after 30000 miles. I drive gently and the tires are wearing very evenly which demonstrates there is no problem with my Jeep. I will only replace these tires with Michelins if they honor the 60000 mile warranty and provide me with a fair credit. For the record, in over 40 years of driving, I have never tried to get tires replaced under warranty because I have never had a wear problem like this.

Poor Treadwear

My 2012 SRX is on its 4th set of Michelin's. The first 3 sets of Latitude Tour HP lasted about 21000/22000 miles per set. Not good with a 55K warranty. My current set of Premier LTX has 16500 miles on it. I'm down to 2/32 maybe less than 3/32 on a couple. I'll be lucky to get 17K on this set. These were the recommended replacement tires for the Premier LTX which were no longer in production. Right now my car has 80k on it. I had my front brakes replaced at 75K for the first time. Rear brakes are still original. You can see I'm not hard on brakes or tires. Mostly all highway driving. I always have purchased Michelin. I have friends who say Michelin is a good tire brand. I need another set of tires. What are my options.
