It's very soft, yet firm. It has just the right amount of softness but still leaves plenty of room for support.

I am 80 years old and changed from my other mattress because I wanted one that was more cushiony and a little less firm. This mattress is excellent, actually providing firm support as well as a comfortable cushion feel. I can sleep in any position in complete comfort and good support. I got the medium pillow top Studio with a 9" box spring underneath. It has greatly relieved all my various aches and pains, and is perfect for me. It is a bit pricey but well. worth the expense at my age

The mattress feels so luxurious compared to other mattresses I've had in the past. The outer material feels thick and substantial and this mattress is COMFORTABLE! Even though it is not billed as a pillow top mattress, it has the cushy feel of a pillow top. It is very supportive for a medium mattress while still having a cozy feel to it. One thing that was really important to me was the mattress be very breathable. My husband tends to sleep very hot, so the wrong mattress can exacerbate that problem. Luckily this mattress sleeps very cool, and that's from our experience sleeping on it in the middle of July. This mattress is also great for couples as you aren't going to be jostled around when your partner moves. I can't even feel it when my husband rolls over in the night. Overall, we love our new mattress.

Not only is this the most beautifully designed mattress, but it is also some of the best nights sleep I have ever had. I love the comfort of a pillowtop mattress, but I needed more support for my back. With this Medium support pillowtop mattress I can now have both. The pillowtop contoured to my body giving me the best comfort and the support was not too firm and not too soft. It was perfect. I can wake up and not have soreness in my back and that is huge for me. The mattress has a ventilated cooling system that helps to keep your mattress cool all night long. The coils have responsive innerspring technology that prevents noticeable movement from your partner so you can have a more uninterrupted sleep. My husband does toss and turn in his sleep and I didn't notice his movements at all while sleeping on this mattress. I was able to get a good nights sleep and woke up feeling refreshed and ready to go. I haven't felt this well rested in years. I am very happy with this mattress and I would definitely recommend it to all my family and friends.

It gives me best sleep with no complaints. It's a thicker mattress. It feels that it contours your body giving required support to the sides you choose to sleep. It is firm enough to help my back but still has good cushioning. This is exactly want I want in my bedroom. I feel very relaxing and super comfortable sleeping on this mattress. I actually ordered a less expensive brand, which failed twice to be delivered on time. The store gave me an upgrade of Stearns & Foster! I was very happy about that! We compared & contrasted numerous bedding options, & are thoroughly delighted we went with this Stearns & Foster Studio Collection Medium Tight-Top mattress along with an adjustable S & F platform. We did not have a clue how bad our old mattress & box spring was for our health! My husband, with sleep apnea, is finally getting good solid nights' of rest. I also am feeling much more rested. For those who don't find memory gel mattresses comfortable, like us, you'll love this mattress!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It was difficult to find a mattress that was supportive while still being soft and comfortable, but we finally found it with this mattress! Many of the mattresses we tried either seemed like they'd sag in the middle eventually or felt hard as a rock. This mattress had the balance we were looking for as side sleepers. As with any mattress, expect it to be a little on the firmer side until it's broken in. Ours has been steadily softening towards how it felt when we tested it in the store.

I was not able to test this mattress so I relied on the manufacturer rating to make my purchase decision. So, on a scale of 1 to 10 (with a 10 being the most firm), this mattress was rated (by the manufacturer) at a medium comfort level between 4 and 5; however, it feels more like a very firm 8 or 9. Unfortunately, I don't think this unexpected extra firmness will work well for a side sleeper like myself. My advice would be to make sure you can test this mattress yourself and do not rely on the manufacturer's rating to make your purchase decision. My only hope is that, ove time, it will soften enough so I will be able to "comfortably" sleep on my side.
