It stays cool for about 15 minutes. I love the comfort, but the mattress tends to get to warm. We bought this bed because some of the medications I'm on for my cancer cause night sweats and I thought it would stay cool most of the night. My best night of sleep so far was about 5 hours. Most nights it's 3 hours.

I'm still working the mattress in but can already feel it coming along. It is extremely comfortable. I do not notice being hot or it retaining heat at all! I would recommend this to anyone with oresurre point problems especially a side sleeper like myself.

It's fine to sit on or just to relax on. When I go to bed to sleep I find myself miserable. Tossing and turning. If I sleep on my back my neck will hurt, if I sleep on my side my knees and elbows hurt. I got an adjustable base. If I try to sleep at different angles with that it just doesn't help. I've had it for a short time but still have not found a comfortable position to sleep on it yet. I have a lot of different pillows to try with it too and I just can't seem to make this mattress work for me. :( We bought a split king. My husband seems to enjoy it and definitely seems to toss way less then I do.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the way you initially sink into the bed when you first lay down. Once settled the mattress offers a level of comfortable firmness. I sleep much better on this bed compared to the sleep number bed I had before.

We have had the bed for about 3 weeks. I have disk issues. If my back is bothering me at the end of the day, the Pro Adapt Medium Hybrid cures it and I'm ready to go in the morning. Most comfortable nights sleep. What more could I ask for. Love everything about it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I ordered the adapt medium which was too soft for me and slept hot so I upgraded to pro adapt firm, it's A lot cooler and the sheets don't sink in and move around.. I noticed the beds do off-gas and need to air out for a few days. Final conclusion- the bed is outstanding it contours to your body the way it should and yes you can still sleep on your side. We have used this mattress for the past 3 weeks and haven't slept this well in a long time. Needed to transition to a firm mattress, and it has made a difference. The mattress itself sleeps cool. One of our biggest concerns was the idea of "sinking" into the mattress - that does not happen. We also splurged on the Tempurpedic Luxe Egyptian Cotton Sheets - again, amazing. This only added to our experience with this bed.

This is my second Tempurpedic mattress. The first was the old DeluxeBed model, a medium firm mattress that was about a 6.0 on the firmness scale. It took a while to soften up and the unused side was still as hard as a rock after 12 years but it was great for alleviating lower back pain. My arthritis in the hip has worsened with time and age so I selected the Pro Adapt Medium Hybrid with a 4.5 rating as a replacement mattress for more pressure relief. I was told it is their most popular model, especially among women, and the three year old floor model was not overly soft. My new mattress took no time to break in but after three weeks of use, it seems a little mushy. I weigh about 200 pounds and am a side sleeper. I will try it for a couple more months but am concerned that the Medium Hybrid might be too soft for me.

As a result, my sleep quality has been greatly reduced for as long as I can remember. Since owning this mattress, my pain has been noticeably reduced. I am nowhere near as stiff as I used to be in the mornings. I fall asleep faster and stay cooler through the night as well. Excellent purchase. Would recommend. Would purchase again.
