Because I am a side sleeper and have shoulder problems, I went to local retail mattress providers to test various products. Hands down, the best mattress for me is the Stearns and Foster Lux Hybrid-firm. I love my mattress, no shoulder pain and I highly recommend this mattress. Don't let the firm mislead you, try it out. This mattress provide the perfect level of support in firmness and comfort.

Finally, when we got this Stearns Foster mattress, we found our match. I read reviews each time I bought each mattress. Not sure what to say except the first two - which were also not inexpensive - were just not comfortable. They were so uncomfortable that I was roaming from one bed to the couch and back. When we got this Stearns and Foster bed, I stopped roaming and slept through the night without aching in the morning. I wish we would have bought this first, but at least I'm glad we kept looking instead of giving up. We bought this hybrid, medium mattress with the base and I don't think we'll ever buy another brand now that we've found a comfortable bed. We'll worth the cost. Five stars.

Quality was my main priority, so I looked into Stearns and Foster. I found the Lux Hybrid variety intriguing. While I was very interested in the advantages of a memory foam mattress, I was concerned about heat retention. I'm what is known as a "hot sleeper". The Lux Hybrid does contain memory foam, but it's designed with coils, which allow the mattress to stay cool. Best of both worlds, right? Absolutely! I've been sleeping on my new Lux Hybrid for a little over a week, and I'm enjoying cool, cozy comfort all night long! I awaken refreshed, ready to hit the gym and start my day. If you're thinking about memory foam, but are concerned about being hot, please look into this mattress. It really will keep you comfy and cool!

The pillow top is soft, and the mattress is firm, so no back ache! I slept like a baby. It is heavy and can be hard to change the sheets.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mattress has done wonders for my stiff and achy back! I now can wake up be it in the middle of the night, or morning and my body feels rested. There was a transition period of a few weeks that I wasn't sure things would work out, but I'm glad I held out. The side walls could be a bit more solid, but it holds weight pretty well when sitting on the side of the bed. If you are on the heavier side, this is Not for Tummy/Stomach sleepers. But if you are a side or back sleeper, I highly recommend!

After about 6 months I finally purchase the pillow top soft reserve for my own room. It has really improved my sleep and I wish I had purchased it sooner. The only thing I didn't realize is how think the mattress is...guess it will totally be worth purchasing deeper sheets too but I love it.

I've slept on many mattresses in my life. This thing is amazing. I'm the average American male size - 5'9" 190lbs. With other top of the line memory foam mattresses they were comfortable however, I would sweat too much. With this mattress in the same room, I never wake up in a pool of sweat. In fact since purchasing this mattress, I hardly ever wake up in the middle of the night at all. I'm much more rested getting up every morning than I ever was prior. This is worth the premium over the competition, especially if you have a demanding job and must get up everyday ready to perform at the highest levels - YOU NEED THIS AND NOTHING LESS!

The store warned me that it might be really tight and smell like plastic when it arrived. I did not experience either. I just to moan when I got out of bed in the morning, I never realized how bad my old mattress was. I have not had any ackey joints since I received the mattress. My only regret is I didn't purchase it years ago. Thanks for building such great quality products

The medium is a perfect combo of support and comfort. No stinky mattress smell. We get a much better sleep now. Seems my previous one had much harder edges, but that was mentioned in my previous bed as a separate technology. This isn't bad though. Overall very pleased
