Great item well built

I purchased four of these units. Three of them went together very well. I assembled them on a flat, level, 4'x8' workbench. They were easy to square and the way they lock together makes them incredibly strong. I did have trouble with one unit. It seems like everything was bent or the nutserts were at an angle. This would cause poor panel fitment. I also had issues with sticking drawer glides with this one unit. The work surface is excellent. It's thick and feels very heavy duty. It has a good weight and the finish job is exceptional. The powdercoat is very strong. My 4 year old son was helping me assemble all of these. Throughout the project, his screwdriver was slipping off the screw heads, or he would get bored and start beating on the sides of the cabinet with the same screwdriver. No a single dent or even the faintest scratch. Not something that any Craftsman product can boast. Compared to a Craftsman Heavy Duty series, these are constructed equally well. The Craftsman HD series is more expensive, but the drawer glides are considerably better and better under maximum load. In summary, I chose to give this product 4 stars because of the drawer glides not meeting my expectations at this price point. I will say, that I tried these at my local Sam's Club, and I knew what I was getting before I bought them. There were no surprises. I will leave you with this tip: Do not tighten down all the screws, on each sub assembly, until you have all the panels on. Then, use a level or a square to make sure you're panels are where they are supposed to be. Start screwing the work together from the middle and then tighten down the outside, or do a cross bolt pattern like lug nuts on your car. It helps to put screws in at the very top and very bottom of each sub assembly, to hold it in place as you set the remaining screws in place. Again, do night tighten it as you go, wait until it's assembled, square it, and then torque it down. I found that my Milwaukee M12 screwdriver on chuck setting #2, was more than enough torque to fully secure the screws.

Yes, you will need to assemble it. It takes some time, but it is well engineered and goes together very nicely. Once assembled, it is clear that it is a high quality cabinet. Drawers are smooth, casters roll perfectly. I will likely buy another one of these soon and highly recommend it as a great value for the price.

The only complaint. See photo one piece was bent. I had to straighten out the piece.

Great piece of lockable storage for the bedroom. Don’t expect to rush through the installation process. Take your time, do it right. If you don’t have patience, find someone that does. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Overall a good solid tool chest for home garage use. Easy to assemble in an afternoon. While there are a lot of parts, I laid them out in order and assembled this cabinet myself over the course of an afternoon. I used my drill for many screws, but the included magnetic screwdriver was great for those hard to get at locations. All drawers need to be assembled, but it's not that tough and the cost savings over a pre-assembled tool chest is significant.

Takes 4 to 6 hours to assemble, but well worth the effort. Very sturdy, very nice wood top, very useful amount of storage space for tools, materials, etc. Only four stars because the "keep-closed" catches for the drawer slides could be a lot better...if they were metal leaf-spring detents rather than rubbery plastic inserts. As-is, the drawers are a bit "sticky" to open and have to be slammed to fully close, which displaces the tools to the back of the drawers.

This was a great Father's day purchase. My husband and I put it together in about 45 minutes. The holes all lined up and they even threw in a magnetic phillips screw driver. The package was well protected with plastic and Styrofoam. I also purchased the stool and peg board set up. I think you could put it together by yourself but we really enjoyed doing it together and it made it quick work. This does not take a lot of savvy but I'm not sure why you'd be buying a tool chest if you weren't a bit of a craftsman.
