Excellent design, easy operation

I purchased the iGen2500 to get me through a couple of power outings sure to happen this winter. I've tested it several times and am very pleased with how quiet it is. Also the helpful LED display is easy to read and understand. I tested it in the field to run an electric hydraulic log splitter and to power a heater and a wet vac in my garage. I used the USB port to charge my phone just to make sure it worked during other tests. It is easy to start, easy to maintain, and I confidently recommend this generator.

Great dog show addition!!

Since Covid pandemic, we can no longer have forced air dryers inside the dog show facility. This generator works perfectly to run my dog show dryer as well as fans & phone charges. Super glad I finally pulled the trigger and bought it! Definitely recommend!

Very Quiet and portable

Added the oil per the instructions, added gasoline, and pulled the rope. Started right up and ran very quietly. I plugged in my electric power washer and spent about an hour on the generator. The electric power washer was much louder than the generator. I moved the generator behind my car and it was almost unnoticeable. I have a large generator that runs my house, but is hard to carry on trips (it is heavy). I got this one to carry in my truck for trips (we camp in the bed). Very easy to move and load into the truck.

Works For Me

I bought this for a couple reasons. First reason is to use on my 23 ft cabin cruiser for air conditioning while fishing or lobstering during the hot times from East Central Coast Florida to the Florida Keys and beyond. I go offshore for the whole day, and multiple day boat trips to the Dry Tortugas and Bimini maybe soon. Second reason is backup power during hurricane season. Then it could also be used for any project where I need power tools, or lighting where there is no power available. It has the best features, output, and price. Straight out of the box, I filled it with oil, and it started on the very first pull. It is not very noisy. I am slowly going throught the ten hour break in period before fully taxing it on the boat for A/C, fridge, laptop, and ice maker.

Generator solidly met expectations

Got this for my Christmas present. Opened box today. It had the features I expected and quality. The good. It came with small oil, spark plug wrench, funnel, and nice “cheat sheet” to start and maintain engine. Heavy molded plastic seems very durable. All buttons and gadgets in generator where there and indicated nicely. No surprises! Bad. None so far. The side cover was tougher to get off than expected, but I'm sure that will be easier over time. Also the spark plug cable is difficult to pop off, hopefully that will get easier too. I did not care for the ribbed funnel they give, I would have liked a smooth bore. Other all, I was very grateful the product delivered as promised. I had spent many hours researching this product and inverter generators in general. I have not cranked it yet, I want to use “real” gas in it, And I don't have any right now. Sorry about that.

As expected, very happy with my purchase.

So after A LOT of research on portable generators in the 2,200W and 2,500W range, watching YouTube Videos, and even going to a few stores to check some out, I chose the iGen2500. I really wanted the camo one, but couldn't find one anywhere. :( Maybe because it's camouflaged... Ha! Westinghouse has a phenomenal reputation for it's quality products, it has the digital display for estimated running time, fuel level, output wattage, lifetime hours and more. The fact that you can see how many running hours it has so you know when to change the oil etc, is a huge bonus. I also like that it has an self venting fuel cap where I don't have to turn it on and off each time. One less step to start it. I added the oil that came with it, added gas, and it started up on the first pull. It's a well built machine and definitely a higher quality than some of the others I looked at. I'm very happy with my purchase and hoping it will last me a long time. If George Westinghouse (and Nikola Tesla) can build generators for Niagara Falls, they can build one for me. :) Westinghouse has been building quality generators longer than anyone else.

Nice features, starts easy.lightweight and pretty.

I bought this as a backup for when the power goes out at my hunting camp. It goes out there often. I have ran it at home for 6 hours and changed the oil. It is a nice generator and I would highly recommend it. Thanks Westinghouse for a great product!!

Very good after tightening the fuel drain screw

I just received this yesterday, put the oil in it, filled it up with gasoline, and it started up immediately. I was a little disappointed to see gas leaking out of the bottom of the generator after I shutting it off. Today after work I get home and go out to fire this up again to let it run without a load to help break it in. After about 20 minutes it starts to sputter and then quit running. I moved it from where it was sitting and noticed the grass underneath where it was sitting was soaked with gasoline again and also noticed it pouring out of the bottom of the case again. I took the service cover off to find that the carburetor drain screw was open all the way causing the fuel to drain from the carburetor while it was running and especially after the engine was turned off. I guess this goes to show the efficiency of the engine to be able to keep running while it wasn't even getting a solid flow of fuel. I haven't contacted their customer service yet to make them aware of the quality control issue but after reading other reviews I'm sure that process and their resolution will be up to any standards of good customer service. Things happen, mistakes are made and it's not the end of the world for sure, just a loose screw. I'm glad to have purchased this unit for the price I got it for and can't wait to get out with the camper and put this to some good camping use.

Finally a factory hour meter

I bought this a week ago and so far I love it. It's pretty quiet, has an hour meter and digital gas meter with estimated run time. The load meter is great as well. All features I feel every generator these days should have. I hope it gives me a couple thousand trouble free hours.

Just got it, quiet

Just received it. Right out of the box easy to set up and start. Have it running today to make sure all okay before we properly store it away. Quiet, providing power to our utility shed for several hours now. Suggest keeping the oil container so you can easily measure out correct amount of oil when refilling.
