Outstanding performance and value

This is an outstanding value and the it performs flawlessly. Super glad I bought it. Very impressed by Westinghouse's entry into the small inverter generator segment. Honda should be worried that their model isn't up to the task for the money spent.

Very Happy!

This is my first portable generator since 1984. The iGen2500 is lighter than my old Honda650 and a lot quieter with 4 times the juice. After adding the oil I gave the pull cord a light easy test pull. Guess what the darn thing started right up. Ran for a few minutes then plugged in the camper, turned on the air conditioner (the fridge was already running). Then turned on the microwave. That flipped the overload switch. After resetting the overload by pushing a button retested with the AC set a little lower and the power on the microwave set at 8 rather than 10. Everything kept running. Can't wait to take it out in the woods. Side panel to access oil, air filter and other stuff is a little cheezy but it works. Read the full manual description not just the Quick Start Guide to get a better understanding of how it all fits together.

Hurricane Ida

I used this generator 12 hours a day for 9 days after Hurrricane Ida. It performed as advertised with only one hiccup. The fuel cap doesn't seem to vent the fuel tank. I have to leave the fuel cap a little loose to keep the system vented. The plastic housing is a bit thin and not very sturdy.

Solid unit with power to spare

I bought this generator a month ago to deal with anticipated power outages. Luckily I wasn't faced with any so the unit is still in new condition. I sized it to handle my boiler primarily but it can also handle my entertainment center (FiOS cable boxes, router, modem, TV) as well as some lights. I'm considering having a transfer switch installed so I can choose other circuits to power in case I need to run an AC or refrigerator instead of the boiler.

Hard starting during break in

I followed the break in instructions and ended up having to babysit the unit to keep it running. I needed to keep the choke on for the first hour or it would shut down on the "Run" setting. Now that I am into hour three it will run on the "Run" setting with a few stutters every so often. Hope it keeps getting better and runs steady when I get to using it under load.

Great size and easy to use!

Bought this for tailgating at football games. Haven't had the chance to use for a game yet, but came in handy after storms knocked our power out recently. Easily ran our fridge for a few days. Very easy to start and ran for about 8 hours on a tank of gas, before refilling.

Well thought out Small Generator

Arrive well before initial date. I can only comment on the product out of the box. Well thought out design and has a small kit, (Screw Driver/Spark plug wench), funnel and motor oil. Engine service cover is secured by two screws and very tight fitting grommets and posts. Added the oil without spillage due to the design of the funnel. Recommend you to keep the motor oil bottle, (refill) and funnel on hand for future usage. Spark plug access does not fit as well as I think it should, however this will not hinder the performance. Recommend using only non-ethanol premium fuel only. Performance is to be seen as this current writing will not be very helpful in that aspect.

Great Device

Bought in advance of tropical storm Isaias, and glad I did. Arrived in perfect condition. After unpacking and filling with the supplied oil and some stabilized gasoline, tested with a small load. No issues with the test. Two days later, we lost power for about 4 hours. The iGen2500 performed flawlessly, powering our large refrigerator, a coupls of fans, our cable modem, our wifi hub, and a large television. Impressively quiet.

Very Impressed!

Bought this generator primarily to be able to run a 15K a/c unit in the RV as well as for the odd portable needs requirement. I am currently midway thru my own break-in procedure of 1 hour run with varying loads, then drain the oil, refill and run for 4 hours with varying loads, then good to go. Using a 600w fan, 1800w hair dryer and a 15A HF air compressor, all at varying times to apply load and this iGen unit has passed. The air compressor did kick the breaker when it tried to restart with 80psi head pressure on the compressor. I can't fault the iGen as that is a very heavy starting load. I pressed the circuit breaker reset while the iGen was still running, depleted the remaining air in the tank and turned the air compressor back on. The iGen handled the startup without issue. The generator's noise level is less than that of a push lawnmower when the air compressor was running, so it will work great for the RV. I am very impressed with this unit.
