Westinghouse iGen2500 Outlasts the Honda 2200!!!

I bought this last month and was waiting for the first oil change before I left a review. So here it is...WORTH EVERY PENNY SAVED! My uncle has the Honda 2200 and he let me borrow it to camp and it would last about 7.5 hours with my setup and with it being completely filled to the top. I did my research and bought the Westinghouse iGen2500 for the extra wattage and front display(of course). With my Westinghouse iGen2500 and the same exact load, it will run for over 9 hours! I cannot sleep that long so if I fill it up before I go to sleep, there is absolutely no worry about running out of gas. I will be buying another one to run parallel on my entire house during hurricane outages.

compact power house

I bought two of them, to be able to use them separately, or parallel for power supply. Both easy to run, transport and maintain. Also very quiet, compared to other generators. It should say where to obtain the parallel cords. Overall very happy with the product!

works as expected, great manual and cust support

Bought iGen2500 in middle of Nov2020. Read the manual several times to make sure that I did not miss anything. Follow the Quick Start manual, it works on the 2nd pull; only I did not pull hard enough on the first pull. when everything works as in manual, it gives me more confident on the product. Since we will only use it occasionally, I called customer service for long storage preparation. My expectation was, to be honest, very low. But to my surprise, they know and care about what my needs. Very happy with the purchase and I will definitely recommend this generator.

Quiet and powerful

This unit does exactly what I bought it for to run A/C on our TT. Very quiet, starts on first or second pull and bonus besides digital front that shows output, voltage, run time, fuel is that it also has an hour meter to be able to know when oil changes, etc are due. Only time will tell on longevity....

Each one is different!

This generator is identical to two others I purchased last year. They all operate well, especially after you get used to adding gasoline and changing the oil. This one doesn't always start the first attempt, and unlike my other two, does not sound much different when in choke or run. However, as long as it starts and runs a reasonable length of time, it does the job. On all three, the display of time remaining goes down to F00 about an hour before it runs out of gasoline.

Great features and plenty of power

I bought this Gen set for powering our fifth wheel and the A/C and it works great!! I really appreciate how quiet it is at all speeds. Very easy on fuel and the digital power and fuel gauge is perfect for seeing how much time is left to run on the gas in the tank. It also features a hour meter. Overall I would highly recommend this product.

Super Generator Inverter

I purchased this generator hoping it would power a few appliances if I ever lost power at my house. This generator is amazing. It ran the refrigerator, several lights and charged Multiple cell phones all without any problems. A great added feature is how quite it is while running. Thank you Westinghouse for such a great product.

iGen2500 Generator

Great looking unit....Had issue of smell of melting plastic or rubber on initial start-up...I removed end panel at exhaust side and found a large rubber cap laying in the air intake used to cool the motor....i put the rubber cap in the end of the motor where it belonged...Don't know if any damage was caused by over-heating

Quiet Power

I purchased this generator to have portable, reliable power on the road. The generator is lightweight and easy to handle. It's surprisingly quiet and also has a CO warning for extra safety. The running power for the size is great. 2200W of running power is enough power for lights, computers, and even a heaters or ac (~1800W). A bonus feature the unit has is the countdown. There is no more guessing on the time remaining for the load or waking up with no power. This is a very convenient and quiet generator to have for use. I highly recommend.

Nice Generator Happy With Purchase

I have had the generator for about a month. I have close to 30 hrs. on it so far. I am very happy with the machine. It powers my boat battery charger and the refrigerator and 2 burner electric stove. Also powered my friends off the grid house running all the lights and large screen TV.... And the Microwave. It runs a long long time on a gallon a gas. I was running it around 50% load and less than a half gallon of fuel lasted around 6 hrs. I did have a problem right out of the box though. I filled the gas and then started the generator for the first time. It started leaking fuel. I turned the generator off and the leak stopped. I removed the side cover looking for the leak as I turned the fuel back on. It looked to be leaking somewhere behind the carburetor. I lightly tapped on the carburetor float bowl. Was still leaking and could not tell from where. Turned the fuel back off. I removed more of the covers until I could get a better look and found it leaking between the carb and the engine. With that I realized it was a stuck float. easy..I can forgive a stuck float. Poor baby must have had a rough ride getting to me. I rapped sharply on the float cover with the handle of my screwdriver and the float broke free and the leak stopped. I reassembled the outside covers and started the generator and it ran great. I changed the oil at about 10 hrs. and again at 20 hrs. I have been running the methanol free fuel, and I run it till its empty. I learned to be careful about how much fuel I put in as a little goes a very long way. I am so impressed with this little generator. Its well built. Light weight, Quiet, and starts easy.
