Great laptop!

Great value.

We have bought this twice. First one would not hold a charge. We returned it after about a week after ordering another. This one will not hold a charge either. We are not even getting six hours of light use with this one. I know everyone does not have this problem. With almost 30 yrs of buying PCs, this is a first for us as far as I can remember. I guess we will look at another brand. Works ok except for battery.

Touchpad is unreliable because how how unsturdy the frame of the computer is. If you pick it up with one corner, the touchpad stops working. Very inconsistent problem, having VERY difficult time with HP support to fix it. Would not recommend this model of HP

I bought this because I needed a laptop with more RAM than the laptop I've had. I can't tell you anything about it's performance because out of the box I was disappointed at how cheaply made it is. Just holding the bottom with one hand felt like it could eventually snap the whole corner off or make it come apart. When typing the whole keypad lifted and moved. The underside plastic felt extremely low end, even the rubber bumpers were lumpy. Even a light drop in the floor and this thing would probably bust to pieces. While setting up, it was already getting warm and blowing large amounts of hot air. I bought it on sale for $579 (retail $699) but I've had way cheaper laptops with a much sturdier feel.

If you're buying this because you think you will actually GET the HP 2 year extended warranty, Don't. This is the SECOND laptop from HP we have purchased through Sam's Club that was alleged to include this warranty. I registered the Laptop for this with HP on 1/29/24 with the expectation to receive the registration confirmation activation within 3-4 weeks. Here we are, 6 MONTHS later and no activation was received. I called the 800 number on the card ... oh, yes, the one that has 24/7 support and was told to call back Mon-Fri, BUT if I had the extended warranty, to call a number and it is the same number I dialed in on! I will NEVER buy another laptop from Sam's that has this bogus extended warranty. Beyond disappointed with both HP and Sam's. The laptop itself appears to work just fine, but this selling point of the extended warranty is completely worthless. What if I had needed technical support today? The 24/7 line is unmanned!
