Looks good on paper

I am writing this review after one year of ownership. I am a full-time RVer so this is one year of steady everyday use including wintertime almost 24/7 running. it's not a bad generator for the money and it does power my 30 amp Travel trailer when I am out boondocking. My unit I have run the bageebers out of so when I say it a pretty good unit I mean initially! It doesn't live up to the claims in some cases so keep some of this in mind ... It is cold blooded, so if you are an altitude or cold weather camper/user keep a good supply of starting fluid around. A small squirt of fluid and it will fire right up. In any weather it has a hard time starting on propane so again keep starting fluid around. I don't use propane much because of decreased output and the fact I have been using it in colder climates. This is just a preference and not that I have experienced any issues beyond the trouble starting. All that mentioned above means your remote start is useless unless the machine is warmed up, if it stalls (overloads) it is easily restarted with the remotefrom inside the RV/house. It overloads at odd times. I have had it stall out while using a microwave and with nothing else running. The microwave is a 900 watt but it still shouldn't overload the generator when nothing else is running. It doesn't do it every time but often enough I felt the need to mention it. Don't let the Westinghouse name fool you. This is a made in China machine and parts can only be ordered through the online portal. There are a few shops that work on them but call and verify because the website lists "authorized shops" but my experience is that the shops don't know they're authorized. I had a bad carburetor on mine when I got it and it took a couple of months to get it figured out (hence the paragraph above). I finally got the part sent to me and was able to swap it out myself. I haven't had an issue since. I only run the furnace in the Trailer with it and led lights, so probably less than half load but it gets good runtime on a tank of gas. I was running it during the winter 24 hours a day on less than 2 tanks of gas. The low oil shut off has been a life saver. Running it so much I often forgot to keep up on checking the oil and so a couple of times it shutdown to protect the engine. I do like the remote, it allows me to shutdown the machine from inside the trailer at night during the summer months to save power. I can (most of the time) start it up in the morning if I need to also. On that note (above paragraph) if you don't shut the power off on the generator during times of no use the battery will drain and die to where the push button start won't work. Also when you push the start button the machine will continue to try and start until the machine actually starts. It is doesn't start the first 3 or 4 attempts the battery will usually die. It has a power on light and I think it drains the battery. The battery is also a cheap generic make so maybe a good name brand battery will resolve this. Swapping the power on light out for an LED light might also. Turn the power off if it is going to sit for more than three hours on a regular basis. For the price it is a good buy but just remember that you get what you pay for. It is not the trouble free generator you're hoping for.

Compact Size and Low Noise Level

We had researched a lot of different generators prior to selecting the Westinghouse WGen3600DFV. We compared reviews, value, wattage for gas and propane, noise level, size and weight. We really liked all of the features that this one had. There were also a lot of really good ratings. We like the smaller footprint size of this generator to easily store in our garage. We also like the ability to use gas or propane. Plus, the other advantage is that the weight makes it easy to move around. When comparing this generator with others we chose the Westinghouse for the size, total wattage, and sound level. Another key factor in our decision was the weight since many competitors were just too heavy to lift or move. We also ordered the wheel kit separately and installed it. For the wheel kit the washers for the wheels were a little thick for the cotter pin to slide in so my husband substituted the washers with a slightly thinner one and they installed perfectly. One key point when unpacking is the LPG/propane hose with regulator is tucked up by the engine so be sure to check under the frame for it when you unbox or before starting. Overall, we are happy with our purchase and plan to order another Westinghouse generator.

Off the grid camping!

I bought it today specifically to use for camping and an occasional repairs where electricity is needed but not available. I love this thing it works great. I love the fact its stool fuels. The propane i I love the fact it's dual fuels, propane, or gas. I tried it with gas and it runs my camper with the air conditioning. It's exactly what I bought it for.

Probably the coolest thing I own.

I bought the dual fuel 3600 today and was able to put it together in no time flat and had it running five minutes later. You have to fill the motor with oil and put the wheels on. I had it running in running 10 minutes after taking it out of the box.

Dual Fuel with Remote Electric start... Great Features

I can run propane and avoid lines at the gas station during crisis times. Easy to us and move. All features included in base price. Multiple outlet capabilities. 30 amp twist makes it great for marine use too. I have already shared with my neighbors and recommended.

Great Economical Machine

I bought this about a month ago, and I am very glad I did. It uses both gas and propanel, your choice, so it will be very convenient in case of ice storm power outages where you have limited options for refueling. Still breaking the engine in, so I haven't tested it to full load yet, but it powers circular saw and small appliances effortlessly.

Great unit with lots of features - a bit noiser

I really like my first ever generator - WGen3600DF. I knew it would be a bit nosier but for my planned usage of as a backup power, in case of power outage at my house, should be just fine. Unit came with a cool remote to start and stop, wirelessly. There is a strip down version of this generator but I think extra features are worth getting as one doesn't buy generator very often. I am writing this review as I may get a promotional item; however, by review is from a pure customer perspective.

Assembly went smoothly.

I just purchased this generator and have not needed to use it yet, but would like to say that the unpacking and assembly went smoothly. I am female and 71 years old with very little prior knowledge concerning generators, but I was able to follow the instructions and complete the unpacking and assembly by myself. The only reason I did not give five stars is that the oil plug was not completely closed when shipped and a small amount leaked out onto the unit.

Great Product!

I just bought this generator. Was easy to put together and looks easy to use! I like the idea of it being Dual-Fuel, Electric Start, and FOB for starting from inside of a shelter and not out in the weather. I will be trying it out in the next few days on both gasoline and propane. Mainly bought for emergency home use, but will use it to run my outdoor electric tools. For the money, a great product! Mainly bought over other brands because of the reviews and knowing that the name Westinghouse means fine products!

Easy to assemble

I bought this unit to prepare for hurricane season. I have not started using it yet, but assembly has been simple and straight-forward. I chose it because it runs on either propane or gasoline and thought propane would be somewhat safer to work with.
