I bought this pergola to bring some shade to my outdoor kitchen. Like most pergolas it provides wonderful shade in the morning and early evening, and dappled shade from about 11 to 2. This dapples shade is still more comfortable than full exposure. Plus the pergola makes my outdoor kitchen area look so very cozy.

I also bought a pergola shade to add additional shade in the evening from the sun and hung string lights around it too. If you buy this just watch when you’re putting it together paying extra cloe detail to the wood layout and pre drilled holes. Also make sure your building it where you intend to put it. I built it where it would be easier for me to manage putting it together then afterwards it was the wrong way lengthwise so I wound up standing in the middle under the pergola and lifting it up at balance point to rotate it slowly. Also make sure if you do want to move it you have 4 people with muscle. I’m a big guy and did it by myself but it’s not light once it’s assembled.

Ive always wanted a pergola and now my dreams came true. The Blue Oasis came alive with this great addition for outdoor shade, living, dining and events. Love the electrical outlets so I added add a TV and ceiling fan to make it a great outdoor living area. My friend bought him one after getting his concrete layed...I receive lots of compliments. We put three pergolas side-by-side on our back deck after losing all our trees to a windstorm. It has enhanced the beauty of our home. It provides a beautiful family gathering place. We added a king size sheet to the center for extra shade until are honeysuckles grow up into the roof of the Pergola. I especially like the multi level top; the cross beams are aesthetically pleasing. Using multiple kids gave us the opportunity to see that not all holes pre-drilled holes lined up and it’s difficult to get them perfectly squared. We tried hanging hammock chairs from the frame and that was too much weight and had to remove those. Overall very pleased with the look of the three pergolas side-by-side. We have them standing on a composite wood deck and they slide very easily.

I was surprised at the quality of the materials. The flawless stained finish was uniform and durable. The hardware was complete and easy to work with. Instructions were clear and thorough. Assembly is straightforward if you pay attention to the directions. The only thing I can criticize is that one of the reabbertsd on a rafter was cut too short, but that was easily fixed with a handsaw.

I ordered the Somerville 14 x 10 Pergola from Sams Club in January for a steal of a deal at $799. The only catch was I had to pick it up from the store. It was a bit of a bear to get it in the back of my truck, but I got it home safely. My FIL and I put it together a couple of weekends ago and so far I am extremely pleased with my purchase. I would have paid more and been happy, but with the price I paid the value cannot be beat. A couple of pieces of wood did get damaged during installation, but Backyard Discovery is replacing them for free along with providing some additional stain. I cannot say enough great things about their customer service. I called them on Monday and the replacement pieces are scheduled to arrive on Thursday. Holly and Chelsea were great! This company stands behind their products, so I would not hesitate recommending them to friends and family.

With the outlets included in the structure, we are able to have "movie nights" with a projector and laptop and adding a pull down movie screen. Perfect for our "all sun" backyard. Easy to put together but needs at least two people.

We wanted a defined outdoor space on our recently installed patio addition for a table and chairs and this pergola fits perfectly, and the color matches the wood trim on our southwest pueblo style house very well. The sale price at Sam's Club was a great deal also. We hired an installer that also does installs for Sam's Club and they did a great job at about 1/3 of the cost that Sam's Club charges.

We’ve had this pergola for a year now and we still absolutely love it. It adds the perfect structural element to our new backyard concrete patio. Hang some lights for some fabulous night time ambiance. The only negative I would have to say - the instructions say 2-3 people to assemble, but I was happy we had a 4th person to help with the step where you have to stand the very heavy leg posts up; that part was really tricky and impossible for us with only 3 people. Otherwise the assembly was straight forward. We are very happy with our purchase!

I purchased this pergola at the $799. price and I love it. Was looking for other retailers in the past 2 years that sell a 10x10 pergola over $1,000 dollars compare to this one including electric is a steal. Great for entertainment, family reunion, you name it. Very happy!
