I had been looking at purchasing this shelving unit for a couple of months. We finally purchased it a week ago. Very easy to assemble except that a couple of the holes pre-drilled in the shelf slats did not align with the pre-drilled holes in the side rails. One slat we had to take a drill and modify the holes to match. Other than that - no tools are needed.

Quality has gone downhill. Thin metal. Warped legs out of box. Finish is not good at all. Powder coat peeling in many areas out of the box; was not damaged in shipping. Overall it's decent for the price paid (in today's market), however it's not a quality piece.

Ordered two Member's Mark 4-self Industrial Storage Racks. They were in boxes that were big, bulky and quite heavy. Had to borrow a mini van with seats removed to transport home. Once home, they were lugged up a flight of stairs to a walk in attic on the second floor. . Once the boxes were opened and assembly was to begin, it was discovered that one of the side support systems on one of the racks had failed to be welded. This required the rack to be disassembled, returned to box, secured in box, transported back down the stairs, back into the back of the borrowed mini van and returned to store for a replacement. Luckily, there was one available in the store but this requires a repeat of the whole pick-up, transport, assemble ordeal.

i am so sick of companies making things cheaper and cheaper in quantity yet charging more and more. in the past 13 years i have purchased 16 of these units. the last 4 being 4 years ago. today i bought 4 for a new location. EVERY PART IS THINNER LIGHTER WEIGHT LESS DURABLE THAN UNITS FROM 4 AND 7 YEARS. I DOUBT THESE HOLD UP 2 YEARS BASED ON JUST HOW CHEAP AND WEAK THEY FEEL HATE HATE HATE YOU GREEDY THIVING CORPORATE SNAKES

This is a really nice shelf unit that worked great in my garage. It's quite sturdy and easy to assemble for the most part. The cross beams prevent shelf sagging as well. My main gripe is the very nice powder coat finish isn't perfect out of the box and easily chips during assembly. If you don't mind that, then it's a great set.

Watched a you tube video or two on this. They had to have some connection to Sam's Club as the unit went together in about 20 minutes. Took my daughter and I more than two hours of LABOR to get two of these put together. The locking system did not line up and this caused all kinds of problems getting everything aligned. Beat them into submission. I think I'll leave them in the house when we sell!!
