Great size for the cost, both fresh and very good chickens, have had one and half was fried and the other to make a chicken stew. The meat is tender and flavorful.

It's hard to find real fryers these days. Most birds in the supermarket are overgrown and stringy. These birds are, young, small, tender and perfect for frying.

Beautiful large natural chicken raised naturally. The Broth when boiled is clear and the chickens have almost no excess fat. Grilling made easy as flare ups reduced.

I will join the other 5 star folks. I mainly bought these fryers because they didn't have as much waste; giblets, extra skin left on, injected with who knows what. That was the main selling point for me. The non-GO etc stuff was just a fringe benefit. Then I cooked one. Wow! The meat is so tender! Even when the meat had been chilled and I was making sandwiches for my husbands lunch, I could literally pinch off what I wanted. Very tender, but not in a mushy way. I cooked it in the crock pot and usually when I do that the bird falls apart. This one never did, but the meat wasn't tough. I think what makes chicken fall apart like that is all the stuff added. IMHO.

I bought the twin pack - 1st chicken was ok, but the other chicken was missing a wing, back leg was broke and sticking out, which you couldn't tell - I have had other issues in the past, but this last chicken was horrible - I will not ever buy them again.

Packaging looks the same but now says George's farmers Market. Some of these chickens are huge and don't taste nearly as good as they used to. I cut the breasts in half and the smaller half weighed 4.9 oz cooked and was over an inch thick. I have been buying these chickens for a long time and have never had this problem under the forester name.
