First impressions were great - the quality of the mattress is apparent right off the bat. There are handles to help move the mattress (which is incredibly heavy and bulky) which is nice and speaks to the quality as most mattresses don’t have handles. The mattress is firm but not rock hard. The pillowtop is soft and makes laying on it an amazing experience. The pillowtop doesn’t make the mattress super soft and squishy because it’s a firm mattress - it simply adds comfort. You will need deep pocket sheets - it is a very thick mattress and regular sheets fit but they don’t cover the entire mattress which isn’t aesthetically pleasing. Overall, this is an amazing mattress and I can tell it’ll be a great mattress for years to come. Highly, highly recommend!

After trying 3 beds from my local mattress store I finally gave up and went to Macys’s where I found this luxury Beauty Rest firm mattress. I have spinal fusions and chronic back pain and have had this bed 5 days and in absolute sleep heaven. I wake up with no back pain and can sleep comfortably on my back or side. This mattress is worth every penny if you want support and comfort.

I am beyond pleased with my new beauty rest. I have layed on Hastens and Hypnos mattresses and this is nothing short of the same quality and comfortability. It is the most comfortable bed I have ever layed on and don’t doubt I will have it for the next 15 years.

I will start off by saying this is a very high quality mattress, I can tell just by the materials, there are 13 layers including the coil system. The upper layers include the pillow top and the cooling layers are just below. It has a very soft, silky feeling pillow top (you’ll sleep on a sheet so it doesn’t matter too much. The mattress description claims: a lush, firm summit pillow top feel, this mattress features Triple-Stranded Pocketed Coil® Technology, exclusive temperature management, premium foam upgrades for enhanced cooling and immediate pressure relief, and 4K Nano Coils for our most premium individualized support and motion separation. So I tested each of these. (1) Motion isolation: as shown in the video, this mattress has great motion isolation. It’s not 100%, it’s also a queen bed not a king bed so you can’t expect full motion isolation. However with the glass test, the glass didn’t fall and barely moved when I was jumping on one side of the bed. (2) Temperature regulation: this mattress does have a cooling effect, it doesn’t last the entire night but it’s comparable to other cooling mattresses. (3) Edge support: with pillow top mattresses edge support is a hit or miss, this mattress has really good edge support (maybe because it’s firm). For me, this is the most important because I like to sleep right at the edge and I didn’t feel like I was slipping at all at night. Overall comfort: this mattress is comfortable IF you like sleeping on your back. People like my husband, who only sleep on their sides might find this painful on the arm that is being slept on. Overall review: this mattress isn’t for exclusive side or stomach sleepers, it gets quite painful, however if you’re a back sleeper or only roll onto side or stomach for short periods of time, this is a great mattress option. It will keep you cool at night and supported on the side. From the quality and heaviness of the mattress, I would say it will last you a lifetime. Mattresses are quite personal so it’s best to try it out at a store and see if it works for you.

This mattress is very comfortable it conforms to your body and takes the stress off of the pressure points to provide a relaxing and restful sleep. Also the temperature regulation keeps you at a comfortable temperature and the motion regulation is wonderful if you share your bed with a partner. I have not felt my spouse moving around in the bed as he flips from his back to his stomach through the night therefore providing me with much more restful nights sleep. This product is definitely made very well and I definitely would recommend it. I chose the firm pillow top and I absolutely love it. I have extensive pain issues that include my whole body. For many years, I have tried many different mattresses that promised to help me sleep without pain. None worked. For the last few years, I haven't been able to sleep in my bed and have tried sleeping in either a recliner or sofa. Needless to say, sleepless nights weren't conducive to a healthy life. A month or so ago, my son bought the Beautyrest Black 4 for his guest room, hoping it would enable me to sleep comfortably when I visited. It worked! So, we bought the same mattress for our home and I have been SLEEPING comfortably and through the night ever since! This mattress was indeed a Godsend to me. I cannot say it more loudly or clearly what it has done for me in so many ways. I know it may seem a bit over the top, but I can actually say it puts my pain to sleep. I feel like I am in a cocoon of softness and being hugged by a teddy bear cloud. I highly recommend this mattress to everyone. It will be the last mattress search they ever have. After our previous Beautyrest mattress failed, we got the black in series 3, firm. My husband and I bought it about 3-4 months ago. Long story short, it failed. There are two dents in the bed from us. Had the inspector come today and confirm the mattress had failed. It also is advertised as "firm", but is a "medium". Even as a medium, there should not be two big dents in the bed now. Beautyrest quality has drastically declined, and the beds are mostly stuffed with soft garbage, it seems. We are done with this brand. This is sad, because it once was a coveted mattress brand. Now they just produce trash that fails. We will be going to a private and local mattress company. Will be getting a simple, no frills mattress. Zero padding and definitely no pillow top. A firm, old-fashioned mattress is the best. I thought this bed would be it, but I should have known it had too much padding. I would definitely consider an old Beautyrest model, if still sold as new. Note: we are average weight people, and the bed looks like two cows slept in it. He is 6+ft/200, I am 5'4/125.

I was apprehensive when it was delivered and I first laid on it because I was used to a 4” memory foam topper on my hybrid mattress. It felt very firm to me. First night I slightly elevated my head and knees with adjustable base and slept very well. No hip aches or shoulder pain. Very happy so far with this BeautyRest Black Series One!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Beautyrest Black mattress is by far the most dense and firm mattress I have regularly slept on. As a side-sleeper more often than not, I was skeptical of a mattress of those characteristics. Rarely am I able to solely sleep on my back without it resulting in discomfort in the morning. This has thankfully not been an issue with this mattress. The firmness feels uniform across the surface, and the slight layer of cushion compliments it remarkably well. At times, even allowing you to forget the strong degree of firmness.  In addition to myself, I have had the chance to have multiple guests try it out for themselves, with each of them providing very positive remarks regarding the quality of their sleep. With that, I can easily recommend this bed as a quality firm option.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since the 1st day it arrived we have been sleeping on this mattress instead of our "Cali King". My husband says when he lays on it he body is like conforming to the mattress and doesn't need to constant move around to find his space of comfort. We have a very thin sheet over the mattress and we don't wake up with sweaty backs on our days off when the temps reach 85 easily by 8 am. I would highly suggest this piece for those that want to enjoy a goodnights sleep.
