Great overall passenger tire

Got 55,000 out of previous pair (could have gone bit further) and  liked so I replaced with Altimax again on a 2014 Honda Odyssey.  Overall great riding, quiet tire with good traction.    Was always confident in rain.  Never an issue with hydroplaning.   Decent in snow and ice for an all season.   For the price, can't be beat.

Can't go wrong with these

In general, No pun intendetrack event :-) General tires are good quality tires at a reasonable price. I used the RT 43 tires on my 2006 honda civic, my 1995 geo prizm and got them for my friend's 2005 hundie SUV. they are good in the snow, Rain and yes even a few Driver ed events at local tracks. I also used A03's , a more performance tire), and  while stiffer side walls then the Rt43, they seemed similar in every aspect.

Great Tires with Competitive Prices!

I bought a set for my wife's 2012 Honda CR-V in March and was very impressed with the ride quality, handling and wet and dry road performance. The tires seem to run quieter than the Bridgestones that were the OEM tires and the improvement in ride was immediately noticeable. Based on this experience I also bought a set for my 2014 Honda CR-V in April. Very happy with my purchase of the General Tire AltiMAX RT43.

Great Tire for my 2005 Equinox!

I had the AltiMax RT43 on my Equinox for over a year now. We live in northern Illinois. Great traction in the rain & snow, and good traction on the icy roads. I bought a second set for my 2006 Grand Prix. They are currently my ""go to"" tire for all my vehicles.

Great buy

4 full seasons on these tires and I am extremely pleased. 2 long 2500 mile road trips (1 year apart) and the tires ran smooth as can be on our Toyota Sienna. We live in Snow country and since the tires were new decided to keep these on rather than switch to true snow tires. They performed very well in the snow not so well on stopping on ice.

Amazing tire

Bought a set of 4 for my 2010 Toyota Venza and absolutely love them, in the rain and in the heat of summer. They are attractive looking, smooth riding and relatively quiet and for being on a tight budget (no raise since 2014) the cost did not break the bank

Tread life Doesn't last as long as advertised

This review is on my first set.   Bought my first set and needed to replace them sooner than expected.  Bought my second set only because dealer gave me a small discount because of the short tread life on the first set I bought from them.  I hope the ones I have on my car now will hold up this time. I will not buy these tires again if they don't.

Actual use exceeds marketing pitch

I'm retired and can spend extra time researching an important purchase like new tires. The tires were for a 2009 Lexus RX 350. This is the first time I've purchased General Tires. The claims for a long lasting, quiet tire were very important but the claim for better mileage may have tipped the scales. This winter we drove round trip to Tucson—total miles were 6000+. My wife commented right away how quiet the tires were. The bonus was the improved mileage, which went from 20mpg on the old tires to 23mpg with the new General AltiMax Rt43. The research paid off. Thanks

BEST TIRE ALL AROUND

We have been purchasing these tires for our airport transportation fleet for about 4 years. The tires perform extremely well especially in the heavy rains of south Florida. They ride very comfortably with very low noise and handle very well.  Best of all , with the 60-75K miles we put on annually on each vehicle, we are getting about 72-77K miles of treadwear with no rotations.  These are being used on late model Toyota Sienna's FWD.

Great tire for the money!

Hi- Like you, I did all the research and was apprehensive buying a new tire without any prior knowledge. I was replacing a set of OEM Continental Eco Savers. I was looking for performance in all seasons and conditions. I didn't want to have (2) sets of tires a 3-season use set and a winter set (Blizzaks). I live in New England where they keep the major roads fairly clean but you have to watch out for the around town surface roads. This is why I have a car with AWD. Now to get to major points: Road noise- I read the reviews about road noise. Not a problem for me actually quieter than the OEM's, probably due to them being so worn. But I did notice that if the tires are really cold they will thump a little like the old bias-ply tires. After 10 miles or so they warm up and no more thump. It's only happened a couple times and the weather has been -10 degrees F. Traction: Plenty of it. I pushed a couple of exit ramps a little harder without incident and more confidence even in the rain just to see if the reviews were on point. During the last snow when I drove through 4"" of snow for a Dunkin run I did not have a problem with the stop sign at the end of my street whereas last year the OEM tires would slip and slide. And lastly miles per gallon, this one surprised me. I lost 0.5 mpg. this hurts especially since I do 120 miles round trip commute daily. But I will still give a great rating because these were never designed for the miles per gallon or as part of my must-haves.
