Needed new tires and investigated throughly. I chose these tires and also checked with a tire specialist. They are very similar to the Michelin Defender but approximately $100 less per tire. I have put about 1,000 miles on the new tires and the traction is good and they are very quiet. They are a softer ride than the Michelin Defenders which are on my Highlander. I highly recommend these tires as an economical alternative.

I replaced an old set of Michelins with these General Altimax tires. I am a professional tractor-trailer operator. I feel that with these tire on my 2009 Mercury Grand Marquis, I have gained more control and a smoother ride with the addition of the Generals. These tires are the most quiet that I have ever driven on. Great value for not a lot of money. The installation of these tires at the local Wal-mart here in Higginsville, Mo went extremely well. I am pleased with this experience.

The tire was supposed to have come with a "free install" including balancing if purchased by July 26th. I purchased on the 25th for that reason. Unfortunately, I did not have a print out indicating the balancing was free so I had to pay $9 for each of the four tires. Shortly after I left the store my tire pressure light came on so I stopped at a local tire store to have the tires checked. Recommended pressure for my car is 32 psi and my tires were at 36, 38, 40 and 50!! Apparently the person installing isn't capable of reading a tire gauge. Consumer Reports rates this tire very high and, unfortunately, Walmart was the only store I could find that carried this product! It took two trips to get these installed as the store computer system kept crashing!

Bought these for my sons Ford Mustang, gave the car a much better ride then the Bridgestone tires that did not seem to last to long on the car, excellent price.

I purchased the General Altimax tire for my 2008 Ford Taurus and I love them. They heel great and the road noise was reduced comparted to the old tires. I will purchase all of my tires via Walmart.com from now on.

Replaced a set of OEM installed Kumho Solus tires on my 2011 Sportage. They started shredding small chunks of tread before the first 7500 mile rotation. By the time I hit 40K miles, I did not feel safe with them here in Arizona anymore. I have been driving with the 225/60-17H Altimax RT43s for one month now and they seem to have a quieter and less harsh ride. Four stars for satisfied so far.

The price is good for the quality of the tire. Road noise noticed at higher speeds, other than that great tire all around. Michelins that were replaced did not have the road noise, but is much more expensive pricewise. Choices, choices, choices. Overall satisfied with purchase. Would buy again. Wal-Mart has best prices for installation too.

So far I have been very happy with the tires. They have a little over 1,000 miles and have been through some light snow and rain. Seem a little loud on the highway.

I received the tires with yellow chalk around them, didn't know what it meant. 1 month later I took my car for an oil change the mechanic told me the brand new tires that I just bought has dry rotting all around. I had paid a shop almost $100 to put them on. Waste of time and money, do not buy.
