Am I annoyed that I couldn't use my previous-generation Apple Pencil with my new iPad Pro? Yes. But is the Apple Pencil Pro a great accessory for it? Also yes. Whenever the iPad is in use, so is the Pencil Pro.

Wow! I absolutely love this new pencil!! It works amazingly, and the precisness is on point! I take notes at work with this and wow, the writing is better than a pen and paper

Mystery solved as 1st gen and 2nd generation pencil DOES NOT work with 6th generation iPad. Good news is the Pencil Pro does work with the Apple iPad Air 11-inch (M2) (2024, 6th generation).

Major disappointment and poorly advertised limited compatibility, I have a A2436 IPad Pro 12.9” 6th generation, only 2 years old and the new pencil pro is incompatible.

The Apple Pencil Pro is a joy to work with on the iPad. Having it available at a local Walmart store, in addition to the small savings, made the it an easy decision to purchase from Walmart.
