Dangerous tires.

Have this on my Genesis GV70 as factory tires with 9500 miles on it now after two years of light driving. Leave in Colorado and recently had two consecutive snow storms. This tires put my life at risk by almost spinning off highway in a light snow covered road. With great effort I managed to keep it from not spining 360 and not hitting the median or running off the cliff. Scarry and dangerous. Decided to park it till spring and drive my old truck. It is a lease so not worth to spend money for half year left. Never had this issues with BFG or Goodyear.

Nice handling, but traction and treadwear is limited...

I purchased a set of 215/55/17 in Oct 2018 for my ES 350 with 119K miles. They were only fair as an all season tire here in MN. At 151K miles these tires were worn down to the wear bars and I had to replace them last month with a set of Goodyear Weather ready tires. The Michelin Defenders I've had previously gave much better life than the 32K miles these did.

Very Disappointed

I bought a new 2021 Chevy Blazer, came with Primacy Tour A/S. The Blazer has 25,600 miles and the tires are rotated by the Chevy Dealership every oil change. I don't drive the Blazer much, as it is my wife's. We received less than 2 inches of snow this weekend, as was driving the Blazer I was sliding all over the road. The traction from stop to accelerate in AWD is terrible. I was traveling about 20 MPH and slide 25 feet through an intersection. I pulled over and examined the tires, these is really no tread left land the outer parts of the tires are rounded. These are nowhere close to a 55,000-mile tire.

WillCarr, there are several factors involving tire wear. Our team is here and able to help with a solution. We suggest taking your vehicle to an authorized Michelin retailer for an inspection of the tires. Please ask the dealer to contact us while you are there so that we can get more information.

Cobblestone ride

Less than 4K miles on these tires and I have tried a range of tire pressures to alleviate the problem - it feels like I am driving on a cobblestone street. Alignment, balancing, suspension parts - nothing helps. I have purchased many sets of Michelin tires but this set has totally turned me off to Michelin.

Poor mileage

I purchased these tires July 2019 and now after only 26,518 miles, they need to be replaced due to tread depth be 3/32. Although they are very quiet and have a smooth ride, they should last longer, considering the price. Very disappointed long-time customer.

Poor wear

After just 10,700 miles (12 months) the tires are at a 7 on the tread gauge. I have had 3 incidents of road debris with the last one requiring and “shaved” replacement. Apparently the tires grip so well they suck up the road debris, I would never purchase this type of tire again.

Just Okay

This Primacy tire came on our new 19 Ford Edge SEL. We have 25,000 miles on this tire, driven exactly 4 years to date. June 19-June 23. I keep the tire pressure from 36-38psi [Cold] year round, in our lower Wisconsin weather, with even tire wear. I have my own compressor in the garage. There is just my wife and I and both retired since 2010. The tread wear bars are not quite fully exposed. This November, due to our Wisconsin winter season, these Primacy tires will have to be replaced. I might say these tires will reach 30,000 to fully expose the wear bars, at best. I was not expecting a whole lot from these tires in the off set. I once had 55,000 mile warranty tires and were good for 35,000 miles. This specific tire did not meet my grade. You be the judge.

Quiet and grippy

I needed new tires for my Mazda CX five, and on the recommendation of the dealership, I purchased these high end Michelin tires. It was amazing the difference. The tires are so quiet, and very well gripped in wet conditions, and beautiful on the car. They are premium in quality, and so far I am exceptionally pleased with them. It really is like driving a new car, after finally replacing the OEM tires that came with the car. And Michelin backs these tires with a wonderful warranty, and I can replace them or have them serviced at any Mazda dealership. I highly recommend them.

Horrible ride

I bought these in 2021 and will never purchase again. They ride horrible, especially over any slightly rough-ish roads or bumps it feels like you’re hitting your actual wheel. I have had them checked several times to make sure they are inflated correctly and good condition because the ride is so bad and have been told the tires are fine they are just not smooth riding. I have them on my 2016 Honda Accord and cannot wait to change them out!!

High spots and highway vibration

I purchased the Primacy Tour A/S ZP tires in a 245/40 19 size. This is a nice tire overall and matches with my Infiniti Q50S AWD nicely. I have about 30,000 miles on my odometer. However, I noticed a faint vibration sound at highway speeds. There is no real vibration felt, but I fear time will only make this condition worse. The tires were Road Force balanced at time of purchase. The vibration sound got worse over time and after about 1000 miles I took my car in to my dealer describing and recording the noise I was hearing in the cabin. We inspected the shocks, the front and rear drive shafts, the wheel bearings, checked the run-out of the wheels themselves and they are running true. We put the tires on their Road Force balancer and the weights were spot on. The car was brought in a second time to the dealer at a later date as the vibration sound on the highway was slightly more noticeable and was distracting my driving experience, pulsing anywhere from 12-16 times a second. Again, we looked at all suspension and driveline components, put a stethoscope on all rotating sections of the drivetrain and bearings, and the car checked out solid, checked out by the dealer's master mechanic on this second visit. So, the car was lowered from the hoist, a second mechanic got in the drivers seat and the car was lifted again. With the car started and running about 15 mph while up on the hoist. Being AWD all of the tires were spinning in the air. We could see that as the tires rotated, each tire had a high spot, perhaps at a seam? The left front was the worst but each of the tires had that one spot that was high with the rest of the tire surface running true. All of this pointed to the tires being responsible for that pulsing sound heard on the highway. Going back to the tire dealer, they graciously agreed to replace all of the tires, however they are currently on backorder. For the meantime, they offered to put the tires on the Road Force balancer while we wait for backordered tires to become available, Being the third time these tires have been on the balancer, they once again were spot on and no adjustments were needed. I am concerned that the replacement tires will have the same issue. I would have switched over to some other tire, but it is very difficult to find a Run Flat tire in this size, with a 94 load rating, a V or better speed rating, and a tread width comparable to the OEM tires. While the Bridgestone Driveguard would be the next best replacement tire, its main drawback is the tire width is only 7 inches compared to the OEM Dunlop SP Sport 5000 tires at 8.7 inches. That seems like a huge compromise for cornering traction. (btw, the Dunlop SP Sport 5000 tires are by far the worst tires in every measurable category, and of any tires I have driven on in my 40+ years of car ownership. Are you listening Dunlop?) Ideally, I would have preferred to purchase a 245/40 19 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4, or any other premium performance Michelin All Season tire. However Michelin does not offer any other Run Flat tires in this size. I prefer to keep the run flat tires as no spare or spare mount is built into the car. Going back to the replacement tires, they will again be the Primacy A/S ZP. I hope they don't also have those high spots. If they do, I have no idea what other tire I would run. Michelin, you have an opportunity to provide a 245/40 19 tire as a replacement for 2014-2021 Infiniti Q50's and other brands for Ultra High Performance Run Flats, and hopefully without the high spots like that with the Primacy. I will say this though, the Primacy is a very respectable tires on many fronts. Outside of the high spot issue, the tire is impressively quiet, the drive is comfortable yet performance is available when asked, the cornering is exceptional even when pushing the car in the roundabouts, has excellent road manners over expansion cracks, very good in wet and dry, and frankly a great tire for those looking for a capable tire for general and spirited driving on the back roads. The high spots take away from what would be rated as an excellent tire.
