Walmart advertised the potting soil for 5.55 and said it was reduced. The original price was 19.96, I thought I was getting a good deal!! Unfortunately when I got the bag of soil it was this tiny bag of potting soil!! If you can see where it says reduced from 19.96 to 5.55 it’s deceiving. For 19.96 I assumed it was a huge bag!!

The potting soil is light and contains very few sticks and very little bark. It appears there is quite a bit of peat moss in the mixture. It has adequate amounts of Perlite. It seems to hold water fairly well, without staying too wet. It absorbs water quickly. It seems to have about the right amount of fertilizer. I do not have experience with it long term.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] ….and believe me I use A LOT OF POTTING SOIL. I’m always planting something…vegetables, flowers etc….and I do lots in flower pots and large containers… this is the only mix I will use. It’s PERFECT!

This is great for Boston ferns. I've used this the past 2 years and the Boston ferns are bigger and fuller than using regualr potting soil and adding feeder every 2 weeks.! They look so healthy! And I find I don't have to water them as often. Highly recommend!

Dislike. The smell is like something that is rotten or moldy. I opened the bag and put it in the sun to see if it would help but it didn't. I used the soil for one inside large plant and the whole room smelled bad. I could have bought a cheaper potting soil but I went with the name that is suppose to mean something.

Great brand with super results. My indoor plants had been on the decline. I'm not particularly a green thumb person. I water properly, but I was unaware that the soil that your plants are bought in won't remain healthy longer than a season or two. I purchased this soil in fire hopes of saving their lives, and under intensive care, I was able to revive them to their former glory. And Note: Simply changing the soil will not revive all plants. They need as much care as a toddler would, and that's what makes it fun for myself.

This year I used two types of Miracle-Gro to compare results. I put soil for container gardening in one pot and moisture control in the other. I planted a tomato in each. The plant in moisture control was much larger and more productive the the other.

After a small home addition, I ordered topsoil to finish up the surrounding lawn, but I received mostly sand. The lawn did great each spring, then turned brown rapidly in the summer even with extensive watering. The Miracle-Gro Moisture Control Garden Soil was a little damp but was not in hard clumps. I could make it loose soil by working my hands through it quickly, which I then sprinkled over the grass a couple of times, using just enough to not completely cover up the grass blades. I did the same on other small patches of lawn that tended to brown up quickly. So far the lawn looks much better even with the hotter July weather. Was cheaper than other options.

I HAVE BEEN USING THIS PRODUCT FOR QUITE A FEW YEARS, I LIKE IT A LOTIT HAS WORKED GREAT FOR ME! I HAVE A LOT OF PLANTS SO THEY NEED TO BE REPOTTED AS THEY GROW. I HAVEN'T HAD ANY ISSUES WITH GNATS. TRANSPLANTING HAS BEEN EASY AND THEY GET THE NUTRIENTS THAT THEY NEED. THE MOISTURE CONTROL IS A PLUS!!!! TRY IT! I GOT MY MOM AND BROTHERS USING THIS PRODUCT, THEY ALSO LOVE IT!

I am so disappointed it's something from Miracle-Grow that is such poor quality for my plants. I thought I was buying potting soil not a bunch of wood chips and filler. is dried out in the bag it was so bad and so thick full of filler product. waste of money.
