Great Generator. Easy to start.

Got this generator, Wgen9500DF, after a recent winter storm left Texas without power for a few days do to lack of preparing of the electrical grid for winter weather. I feel confident that I will be prepared with this generator to get me through times when I can't count on my government to be prepared.

Solid generator. Great features.

Bought the WGen9500DFc in prep for hurricane season. Just test cranked it and everything checks out. Seems well built, wheels and handle are solid. I am a fan of the 40A/240 outlet and the 30/250 twist lock. Remote/electric start is not necessary, but a very nice addition. I expect this generator to provide many years of service.

Fabulous

I bought this generator because I wanted a push-button start. This generator is wonderful. It was easy to set up, instructions were very clear, and it started with a click. It ran smoothly and is very powerful. I love that if I can't get to the gas station, I can use propane. It will run my entire house. I am delighted with this purchase, and feel I am ready for hurricane season in Florida.

WGen9500DF

Wow, this generator is great. Fired right up on propane and switched right over to gas while running. We have got the house wired and have tested the load using 50 Amp. It runs 2 refrigerators, freezer, all lights and central A/C. Basically the entire house. Bought as backup power for use during hurricane season.

Dual Fuel is an Advantage - Damaged Product

I am happy with the product, I looked at my reviews before purchasing. The redundancy of dual fuel is nice especially in the event of an emergency. It is a heavy well built product. I plan on hooking it up to a home transfer switch for use during power outages to keep larger appliances and boiler system operational. The only issue is that the frame came damaged, as if a large object was dropped on it. There was no indication of this until it was opened which leads me to think it was done prior to boxing it up.

Great features

Just purchased, and the installation was very simple, took less then 15min. Fired right up, well built, the option for either gas or Lp is awesome. Remote start is a nice added bonus. Comes with everything you need to start, just add the fuel.

Look for the battery quick connect

Just bought this generator. Everything looked great out of the box, but couldn't get it started, even after carefully following all of the start up steps in the manual and checking the troubleshooting section. Westinghouse Customer Care phone line was no help; kept disconnecting me after about 15 minutes on hold. Finally discovered that the battery hadn't been connected. The battery cables were just tie-wrapped together and shoved behind the housing. Once we connected the battery, it worked fine. The start-up and/or troubleshooting sections of the manual should mention the battery quick connect. Would have saved us a load of trouble!

All necessary bells and whistles

We bought this generator for emergencies. We tested it for couple of hours and it performed great. It's ready to be hooked up to an electric box in case we decide to do it in the future. It also helps that it's dual fuel if gasoline is hard to get by in emergencies.

Great product

I bought this and am happy with it, it powers on my whole house (AC, appliances, lights, internet, etc). Easy to use and comes with a remote start fob for convenience. Would have given 5 stars but when I received it, the frame looked bent like it may have been dropped. Still works perfect and I am happy with it, highly recommend.

Decent Generator. Simple design could be improved.

I bought this to run a well pump house just in case we lose power. After getting it delivered with a few “issues”, I got it up and running and seems like it will be a good fit. Only problem I see so far is that for the 50 amp connector, because of its location over the wheel, you have to run the cord through the frame to make a good connection. Not the best design if your male 50amp plug is a 90 degree plug (95% of them compared to the online ones)
