Solid unit

This unit was easy to assemble & setup for use. It came with oil which was nice. I did do an initial break-in period that I do on most new engines, although this might not be deemed necessary by some as it appeared to be filled & drained by the factory before shipment. Easy layout of controls, push button start/stop, data center readout was very nice to have. I haven't put it under a full load yet, but seems to be a workhorse. Westinghouse did a good job, very pleased so far.

WestingHouse 9500DF - Great purchase

I am so happy that I purchased this unit. We installed a home transfer switch for Hurricane prep, and this unit is the perfect size to run all necessities in the house. The option for propane and gas is also an excellent feature. Set-up was easy, and maintenance and running are straightforward.

Just what we need

We bought this generator to pump our well until we have an off the grid solar system installed and later on for emergency power failure or use on our land. Its features exactly match our needs. It is easy to maneuver even though it is heavy 220 lbs. We were concerned about that because we are seniors. Starts right off. The remote control is so convenient. Dual fuel adds flexibility on choice of fuel. The transfer switch capability is an added bonus when we are older not having to worry about struggling.

Belt and Suspenders

I didn't want to own a generator...but I live in an area of the country where severe weather is common. I've been averaging about a week a year without electricity. I got fed up and began the search for the right generator for our needs. I chose the WGen9500TFc Tri-Fuel generator because it gets all the things right, even down to small details. -Tri-Fuel: I can run it on gasoline, natural gas, or propane--so I strongly increase my chances in a natural disaster of being able to get the fuel I need. Tri-Fuel=Belt and Suspenders. -Start Any Way: The generator includes an electric starter, which is convenient. It even has remote start, so I can turn it on and off as I need to without even going outside. BUT it includes a pull cord for starting, so if the battery dies, or the starter fails, I can still start it traditionally. Belt and Suspenders. -Form and Function: The engineers paid attention to even small details where they could have cut corners. Things like: including a no-foul trickle charger to keep the battery ready to go, a battery disconnect switch, even a specialty dog-leg funnel to make filling the oil simple and clean. Now I just hope to never have to use it!

Very easy to operate

I bought this last week as a portable back up. We live in VT in the woods and over the last couple of years our power has been going out alot more and for longer periods of time. Pick it up, very easy instructions assemble the wheels to it, add your oil which came with it, fuel source either propane or gasoline. Thats it started right up. Let it warm up couple of minutes put couple loads to it no issues. So far very happy.

Easy to put together

Great little generator. Easy to put together. One small problem. No quick disconnect fitting on natural gas hose. Had to order fittings from local plumbing supply house. Once I had fittings to adapt hose to my existing natural gas line starting up right away. Works good so far.

Very nice generator

Was looking for a portable generator to power my house with during outages and upon receiving my Westinghouse WGen9500DF, I was glad I went with a brand I could trust. Packaging, instructions and build quality are superb. Easy to use right out of the box. Couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Runs well but leaks from carb

Decided to run the generator after work to check things out and run a fridge but noticed that it was leaking gas from the carburetor. Runs totally fine and does all that I need it to but I was disappointed with the original packaging having oil all over it from the store. Purchased one for my family and another for my in-laws after the recent hurricane.

Upgraded to Westinghouse from Honda

We live in a rural area and lose power a few times a year. For years we've had an on and off relationship starting a Honda EG5000 to cover outages from a few hours to a few days. We needed something my wife could operate when I am away from the house and decided on a Westinghouse 9500 dual fuel. We should have done this years ago! It arrived undamaged and was easy to setup. We had it up and running on propane in 30 minutes. The pushbutton start is great! The dual fuel option lets you use gasoline or propane (without the shelf life concerns). When you compare the options for this generator and the minor setup needed to run it against the insane cost and time to install a box store auto-cutover generator it is an easy decision to buy a Westinghouse! Image assembled is included. My only suggestion is offering a cart that mounted the generator and 40 to 100 lb propane tank.

Great Generator for Real

I bought this generator about 3 weeks ago to complete my project of being able to power my house whenever there are power outtages. In Michigan, it seems to become more frequent. I owned a Subaru Robin 400 and it was a great machine, but it could not power the whole house, it was heavy as heck, and I had to use a power drill to start it (pull rope broke). I asked around and my buddy suggested getting a Honda, but Honda's are really expensive. The one I wanted to power my home was almost 4K! I looked at the The Predator 8500, and has high ratings, and a "knock off" version of the Honda. So, I researched generators and the Westinghouse kept popping up. I like the easy install, the dual fuel option, and electric start. This bad boy started on the second button push. The 9500DF can power my whole home and nowhere near as loud nor as heavy as my old school Subaru Robin (much respect). Great buy. I am very, very, pleased.l
