The generator arrived without incident and the delivery agent placed it in my garage as requested. A suggestion for the instructions... when unpacking it is helpful to slit the box at all 4 corners and that allows a cardboard cushion for tipping the generator on end to install the 2 feet and the wheels. This save wrestling with the weight of it. The assembly including adding oil went well. Connecting the battery was as simple as placing the connector together. The startup worked perfectly and the remote setup worked as documented. Connecting a 50 amp power cable to the generator was a bit of a tussel given the diameter and close clearance between the socket and the wheel but everything came together and functioned perfectly. The next step will be a load test to determine exactly which household circuits I can energize refrigerator, water heater, a/c units etc and the associated trade offs. Overall I am pleased with my purchase and the installation. The generator could be a little quieter but for the price we will put up with the noise... can't speak for the neighbors of course. I hope this is an insurance policy against having a hurricane show up on our doorstep.

I purchased the WGen9500DF at the beginning of September, the package arrived undamaged and complete. The generator looks great. Assembly was straight forward. The problems I have read that other people had just needed a little forethought to avoid. The one thing I do agree with others on is that the oil supplied with the product is not enough. I had to add more to bring the oil level up to between the marks on the dipstick. The generator fired up first time, performed changeover from one fuel to another without issue. After a few minutes it settled down to 242 V at 61.9 Hz. I was pleasantly surprised at how quiet this generator is. I followed the run in process over a period of days without any issues. One thing that I noticed on other reviews was people commenting on having 50 Amps available, this is not quite true, the main CB is rated for 38 Amps, the 50 Amps might be starting value. I have not had to use it in a power outage but as mentioned before there have been no issues during the run in period.

I liked that there was very little assembly. Directions on how to use the generator was easy to understand. Generator started up and ran great. The only thing I disliked was the generator is very heavy until wheels were put on. I would recommend this generator to my family and friends.

I bought this to upgrade my 25 year old generator with much more power. Its very heavy but once the wheels are installed its easy to move around. I installed the wheels myself but I recommend you have another person to help. I hooked up a propane tank & it started right up. I ran 2 ac units my fridge, big TV, all lights in the house. I have a transfer switch 30 amp, & 2 15 amp 12 gauge cords hooked up too. Runs great. I wished I bought this earlier when a storm knocked out our power for 2 days a month ago in Houston, Highly recommend this generator!

The WGen9500DF is exactly what we needed during an extended power outage. Easy to assemble, quick start and super easy to use. This powered our entire house and the best part was that it isn't too loud at all! I'd recommend this generator 10/10 times and can say it's been one of the best purchases we've made as home owners.

Bought this about a month ago and needed to use it for the first time last night. Went to put it together (wheels and feet) and found out the thumb knob on the propane. So, gotta replace that but it ran fine all night while needed. Remote shutoff was EXCELLENT at 2 am this morning when power came back on.

Just purchased this generator after the winter storms hit Texas. Being from NC we have bad winter and summer storms. I am a nurse that takes care of a medically fragile patient and we must depend on many medical devices such as his low air loss mattress and hospital bed, oxygen concentrator, and suction machine to just name a few. I must have the most reliable power source in the event of an emergency. I did much research and spoke with several other mechanically inclined "men" to see where I should put my money. The most important feature to me was that I could operate it by myself. I liked the keyfob best of all. I can click it out the window and not have to leave my patient's side. I liked the dual fuel option, especially being able to switch from one source to the other without turning it off. I liked that it has an automatic low oil shutoff. I liked that it has a metal gas tank, not plastic like my old generator that I can't operate by myself. I like that it can be hooked up to the house and run the whole house and I don't have to run drop cords everywhere. The hard tires are great, no need to worry about getting a flat. I'm a 5'0" tall female and had no trouble moving it around in the garage. After the quick assembly and adding the oil was the moment of truth. I pointed the keyfob and pushed, it fried up on the first touch. It ran surprisingly quiet, just another bonus. I don't want to lose power but now I can rest assured that I can manage this generator by myself. I will be ready and will post again after I am able to use it more.

It was very easy to install the wheels and feet. The manual is complete and easy to understand. I connected the generator to a propane tank and it started easily . During the 5 hour test run I tested each outlet with my meter , and they all tested perfect. This generator was shipped everything needed to run it. All I had to do was provide fuel.

I bought this product whereas the last Texas winter storm froze us out of our residence. On initial startup the system is working and I ran a vacuum from one of its GFI outlets. I intend to have my house outfitted so as to run my electrical panel from the generators power. The product did come defected with one of the leg nuts missing. It appears the soldering job was sub par. The nut was not in the box so it did not break off during shipping. One of the stabilizing legs will not properly hold due to this flaw.

After several weeks of deliberation and reading reviews I decided on the Westinghouse generator for my purchase based on the quality, feature set, and price of this unit in that order. I have a few friends that have the westinghouse brand and they could not speak highly enough of the product. I actually borrowed one from a friend when I knew the power was going to be out for several days and had no problem running everything in my house. After delivery, I was not disappointed. This generator is built to last. Everything about it screams quality. Something as simple as a fuel shutoff being a metal petcock verses a plastic one. Up to 12 hour runtime is way above the rest, this allows me to get a full night sleep while running on generator power instead of waking up to a cold house due to running out of fuel in the middle of the night. Assembly was a breeze. Attaching wheels and legs took less than 10 minutes. I opted on 5w-30 synthetic oil since it can get quite cold in Ohio. Admittedly I have yet to fire this generator up, but based on past experience I feel like this is still a valid review.
