Easy to start, provides clean power.

I bought this unit because I like having the option to use propane or gas. I am using the 50amp output to an outdoor receptacle I installed. I put in a 50amp breaker and interlock kit in my main service panel. When on generator power it easily powers my lights, furnace, heat, TV, computers, etc. This makes the occasional power outage much more tolerable, not to mention no longer running around with extension cords. Highly recommend to this setup for those looking for peace of mind during outage

Easy to maneuver for a 200 lb generator

Assembly was a breeze and instructions are very clear. The WGen9500DFcc is well built and sturdy. I only have had a chance to do some break in time but it looks to be a very fine machine. The only negatives would be that the oil level does not indicate correctly, after putting the full 1.16 quart of oil supplied it read on the low line of the dipstick .The other problem is that the part numbers in the owners manual for high altitude propane kit don't seem to exist ?

Smart switch capability

We live in New England with sever winters and routine power outages. We had a freeze up last year costing us thousands to repair. Purchased this generator with the smart start as a replacement to hook up to our heating system. Also the lpg capability is a plus for sure starts eliminating no starts due to bad gas and frozen gas lines.

Exactly what I was looking for!

After we lost power for a week following a major storm, I decided we had to pony up for a portable generator. The Westinghouse house brand is widely praised so I went with the biggest unit that could still fit in the corner of my garage (the WGEN12000DF was simply too big). I have only done some initial testing, but so far this thing is very impressive! Well built, great features, and the ability to use both gasoline and propane is excellent. Also love the remote start feature. My only negative about the WGEN9500DF is the fact that it allows up to 23% THD. I have numerous sensitive electronics so there is definitely a concern there, but otherwise this thing is excellent.

Love the Dual Fuel option!

This was delivered and put in my garage, in perfect condition. I easily attached tires and put in the oil with included funnel to accommodate angle. Attached wires for battery, added fuel, I Prefer non ethanol gas. Started right up and not as noisy as I expected. I also have propane tanks I will use and came with regulator line. I am very pleased with this product.

Good Product

The WGen9500 is a good well built generator with good features. The instructions were good. There were no missing parts and I was glad that engine oil was included to initially fill it. The only problem I had was with assembly, attaching the mounting feet. The bolt receptacles are nuts welded to the frame. Welding spatter was in the threads and the I couldn't start bolts. It took some work to clean out the threads so they would accept bolts.

Generators starts right up, can use propane

Installed a hook up right to my breaker panel. The electrician that did this also bought the WGen9500DF. It started right up. I enjoy the electric and remote start way more than I thought I would. Nice. I particularly like the ability to use propane. Then I don't have to worry about the gas in the tank going bad (even with extenders). I just got a couple extra propane tanks (they work on my grill). This generator is a great, and much less expensive, way to get power to our house. I am ready for the next power outage.

Cost effective backup power

We went through an ice storm and lost power for 12 days and we agreed that w could do better so we added a port to our power panel and bought this generator to provide the power. Haven't had to use it for that purpose bit have used it for msc construction jobs and it has been great.

I made the right choice!

I came very close to purchasing a less expensive, gasoline generator last week. In fact, if they hadn't been out of stock, I probably wouldn't be leaving this review. I cannot begin to tell you how glad I am that they were. My new WGen9500DF is absolutely amazing. The quality and features of this generator are second to none. The dual fuel option is an absolute must if like me, you're purchasing a generator as part of your emergency preparedness plan. I'm a retired Firefighter with 37 years of service. I thought about getting a generator many times, but never seemed to get around to it. The events of the last few months have made me realize that a quality, reliable generator is a must to help ensure the health and safety of those you love.

What we needed

So we bought this to replace our Champion since we needed something a little bigger and able to run on propane. Was hoping to not need it any time soon--but a week after we got it and I got it setup we lost power. It handled our needs quite well but I still have some things to iron out regarding the propane and an icing issue (nothing to do with the generator itself). Even though it stalled after about 6 hours of running I am still very happy with the purchase..
