Great Features for the Price!

Bought this for home backup and for use with our camper. Dual fuel option is great for camping - I can hook straight to our camper's gas system. Remote start option is great to restart the genset the next morning without having to walk outside. Output is great for full camper - even with AC in the summer!

Perfect Generator for the Perfect Price!

I've been in the market for a new generator for some time and after conducting multiple internet searches and scouring through hundreds of reviews, I found this one to be the best one for what I needed and for a really great price. Living in Florida, having a generator is a must. Finding one that has a large enough power output to run our house is also a must. Our previous Honda 7500 watt generator had finally given up the ghost and it was becoming way too difficult to start, especially as I'm getting older. The push button and remote start/stop features of this model really appealed to me. With its 30 foot range, I can start it and stop it at the end of the evening from the comfort of inside my home and not have to go out into the elements. Another aspect that really appealed to me was the dual fuel capability. For those who've been in or around a disaster area, you know that gasoline quickly becomes a hot commodity and waiting in lines for fuel is always nerve-wracking to say the least. With this dual fuel model, I can have multiple propane tanks sitting on standby and I don't have to worry about the gas going bad over time. This model is 2000 watts larger than my former generator yet it is dimensionally smaller and much lighter than my previous generator which is another great convenience for storage in our outdoor shed and moving it to our house receptacle. I would highly recommend this model to anyone looking for a compact, high-power-output generator.

We have the power!

I have been looking for a tri-fuel generator for our house since Hurricane Helene left us without power for days and when I saw this Westinghouse model - I jumped on it. This baby has remote start, comes with the LPG and LNG connectors, and the best part is the load capability!

very satisfied

I bought this generator about 6 weeks ago at the recommendation of my electrician. The unit arrived promptly, was easy to set up, and worked perfectly. It powered my house easily, even my 4 ton A/C without installing a soft start. Am now ready for the next hurricane!

Great generator

Tis is our second Westinghouse Generator. We had the same one when we lived in Michigan and had it wired to the fuse box. It ran everything that we needed during power outages. Now we live in Florida and the power went out during Hurricane Helene and we did not have a generator. Ordered this right after. Just got and now hurricane Milton is almost here. Pretty sure this will come in handy.

Easy Set Up, Does What I Need

I haven't had to rely on this during an outage yet but it will do what I need it to do. I did a test run to make sure it will operate my home rainwater 200v pump and filter. It's big and heavy but worked like a champ pumping and filtering water. Propane only so far, the push button and key fob start are sweet. Looks solid.

Works as expected

Have not used for emergency yet but assembly was easy and started with no issues. I have only run it on propane because I will use infrequently and didn't want to deal with draining the carb. Overall seems solid and will update if any issues once I use for loss of power.

Powerful generator

I bought this generator a month ago to prepare for hurricane season in the south. This unit is so powerful and it has so many cool features. The remote start is awesome and having a battery tender is a great addition. I have this unit hooked to my house via a 50 amp inlet and a manual transfer switch. This setup is the closest and most cost effective way of controlling my home during a power outage. I am super happy about this purchase.

mgen9500dfc remote start

This is a replacement for an old Honda 6500 generator. We were looking for a larger unit with remote star. We have not had to use the generator but, was easy to assemble and the Remote start works as described. Other reviews have said that the remote start is hard to program. I believe this may be because the instructions are confusing. On page 20 under remote start, The third and fourth bullet points are duplicated. the fourth bullet should be removed.

Enough power for the whole house

I live in Southeast Texas so dealing with hurricanes is something that folks around here just learn to do. I've had a 5500 watt generator for years, that worked just fine in a pinch to run fridges and freezers, a few lights and a window unit, but with that came extension cords ran throughout the house and only one room that was comfortable. After the derecho winds that hit us this year and then Hurricane Beryl, each causing power outages that lasted a week, I was fed up with dragging extension cords and having to choose what was going to be powered and what wasn't. I really wanted the 20 kw tri-fuel but since they are still not available, I opted for the 14.5 kw Westinghouse. Ordered it in September and got the good news last week that it was being shipped, got it this morning, 11/1/24, put the tires on, added oil, hooked up the natural gas hose and let her rip. Ran it in for about an hour with no load. I had previously wired in two breakers (50 and 30 amp) to feed the breaker panel. Shut off the incoming power from the lines and connected the cords. Had also previously installed a soft starter on my 5 ton HVAC unit. That piece alone dropped my LRA on the compressor from 107 amps to about 29 amps during startup. Normal running amps is around 7. Anyway, I was able to power the entire house including AC and pool pump. The only item I didn't try was the electric dryer. Worse case, I'll just make sure the pool pump is off before running the dryer. All-in-all, very pleased with my purchase. With my luck, I'll never lose power again but am ready if I do. Hope this review helps.
