This is truly a great bourbon! I'm no connoisseur. But the decades I've been enjoying great whiskey. I do believe this is my #1 favorite. If I'm going to spend time with old friends I always pick up a bottle. But NEVER share with those mediocre friends! They're just not worth it!

Love everything about this bourbon. The aroma is warming and enticing. The mouthfeel is glorious- full bodied and coats your palate- allowing the multitude of flavors to develop and express nuance through each sip. The finish is long and pleasant- nicely rounded for a higher proof bourbon- enticing you to always take another sip. Great from start to finish. Can’t be beat for the price point.

I have a small whiskey collection and Rare Breed Bourbon is a 100% must have on one of my shelves at all times. You can try many whiskies between $25-$150 and get inconsistencies one bottle to the next. Rare Breed is the most consistently delicious pour I have ever had in my collection. It out-paces most of my $80-150 bottles with ease!

Single barrel is all ive tried but it was amazing i was expecting some burn but it didnt great flavor an just warmed my belly up. Wonderful bourbon i bought abottle for my step father as a Christmas present an we tried a lil would buy again. I would also reccomend tryin a bottle!!!

For years I sipped Wild Turkey 101 and thought nothing could surpass it for smoothness and finish. Then I discovered Rare Breed Bourbon.and I enjoyed it so much I joined the Rare Bird Society and I can't imagine anything that could surpass it for smoothness taste and finish.

JR held a tasting for RB's debut and even sat at my table.... a true gentleman! I fell in love with Rare Breed at the time and was the only bourbon I offered to guests for years. Then there came the reformulation, proof was increased and the flavor profile went a whole different direction. It's not so much the higher proof but the "bite" is much more prominent. Now my guests turn it down. I've got an un-opened bottle that has sat for a long time on my bar. Six bottles of the original mix at 108 are in my closet waiting for the 6 that will carry me out the door. It was sad to see it change.

Rare Breed is one of the best, especially around the $50 price range. Some caramel and vanilla up front, with some oak that lingers on the finish. Very flavorful and drinks smooth for the high proof. Drinks well neat, on ice, or in a whiskey-forward cocktail.

I am a 101 guy but when I have a special occasion or something to celebrate I always pick up a bottle of Rare Breed. I will say however, I feel hike this bottle was much better 4-5 years ago. Maybe these new bottles come from younger barrels but something did change with the flavor. A few years ago this was a 5 star bottle all around. I still enjoy it though.
