This is an extremely low cost dutch oven for its size. So the old advice of 'pay less, get less' applies here. However, this size is not something that I would use very often, as there are just 2 of us in my household. I think that it will serve me adequately till I die, age 69. I just used it today to make a shrimp & corn chowder and the roux stuck to the bottom of the pot if I didn't continually stir it. However, it was an easy clean up and the heat was pretty well distributed. I let it soak for a while and used a plastic scrubber. I might add that the instructions say to dispose of the silicone pads that are used in shipping. I'm keeping mine to use in storage so that the lid & the rim will be less likely to chip. At the same time as this, I purchased a 7.5 qt Lodge Dutch oven at Walmart. It was a few pounds heavier (not good for my hands) and oval in shape, double the price. I wanted to have some comparison and I chose this oven due to lighter weight, better shape, & lower price. I returned the Lodge.

When this item came up on Sam's Club.com I knew it was just what I had been looking for. A larger pot to boil potatoes for special occasions, for Chili when we all get together for football and family fun nights. A pot to resurrect My Grandmothers Ham hock and bean soup. This pot is just perfect, built extremely well; a more expensive name brand could not work better.

I love this dutch oven. It's extremely heavy and I love the color. I chose red. I've only used it once since I purchased it, but it cooks great. I love the enamel coating on the dutch oven. I have a cast iron dutch oven with no coating and I've found they can be difficult to keep cleaned and seasoned, With this one you don't have that issue. Looking forward to trying all kinds of recipes in it.

Didn't buy this for myself, so hard to review. Looks very nice (just a couple small blemishes in the finish that hopefully won't affect its use). Very heavy. I did read comments about oiling the exposed cast iron, so he's done that. Don't think he's used it yet, as it will be a new experience. Need to find a good recipe for him to try with it. I'd get one for myself if I had room to store it without worrying about damaging it.

I bought this to make great dishes like chili, potato soup, stews, etc. The only thing I didn't think about was the weight and it is a little heavy for me to pick up and move around on my smooth top stove, but I have managed the issued. Purple is my favorite color. The dishes are so delicious and it can be made in one pot.

I haven't stopped using this Dutch oven since I purchased it. Why pay for an expensive brand hundreds of dollars when this little beauty looks and functions just as well. I have baked bread in it at 450 degrees daily along with cooking soups on a gas burner. It still looks brand new. I got the purple colored one and have received loads of compliments from friends and relatives during the Christmas season. I highly recommend this project.

The price is what drew me to this piece. I’ve been looking for a Dutch oven and did not want to spend what I was seeing for some. The reviews were excellent so I decided to purchase. I’ve used several times now for bread, soup and hot sausage. Very nice to work with, some food did stick. It is very heavy a very pretty color (red) and I will use often!

Always wanted a large soup kettle, finally made the splurge. The dark Navy color with gold knob is just stunning. I have been cooking up soups every week and it is easy in this large pot with plenty of room and non stick. Cooks evenly too. Heavy when washing, but not an issue as the pot is great quality cast iron. Love it!

This is the largest Dutch oven I own. It cooks everything evenly. It is large enough for an 8 lb roast plus vegetables with space left over. The quality is excellent. The only drawback is the weight. It is just a tad heavy so you’ll need some muscles to move it around especially when full. I would definitely recommend this.

Have received this Dutch oven and was surprised at how heavy it was . I know that cast iron was heavy but expected it to be of lower quality. I am 73 years old and one of the pleasured I get out of life is cooking so I am very very fussy about my cooking equipment. I live on a minimum amount of SS so it is one of the few enjoyments I can afford. It has made me feel good about this purchase. I would recommend this to anybody. As a matter of fact (depending on how much I can afford it) I think I might purchase one for my daughter's Christmas gift.
