LOVE my new Dutch oven! I have a few pieces of cast iron, but when I saw this enameled one, had to have it. Easier to clean than my non-enameled cast, and I love the cobalt color. Got it on sale online and free shipping, so that's a big bonus. Making a pot roast in it this weekend!

Dutch Ovens are the best pot in your kitchen and it often becomes a family heirloom. I purchase this Dutch Oven in Teal Blue and it is a beautiful as the picture. This oven was a gift to someone new to cooking. The wonderful things people discovered while staying at home…”Cooking you say…what is that?” One meal out of the Dutch Oven and suddenly they’re a Chef…. funny what an oven will do. It currently gets used every Sunday and I get to hear all about the tender roast, the moist chicken, spare ribs, etc. For those buying the Instant Pot great appliance (I recently purchased) HOWEVER the Dutch provides the same tenderness and the overall cooking times are the same. You can also open it if you want add seasoning, check it see if you need to add more time or not, and it can be opened right away. The only time I would not recommend a Dutch oven is if you can not lift beyond 10lbs from the oven and I would caution seniors to get a smaller one due to the weight. It also gets EXTREMLY Hot so be cautious. Other than that I absolutely love my Dutch oven and as for the cast iron skillet...its not a myth cast iron skillets are the best skillet you will ever buy.

Very well packed for surviving shipment during a peak shipping season. Good instructions but they're on the box flap & not in an enclosed "user manual." Although the Dutch Oven is well-enameled, be sure to read the comments about seasoning the non-enameled mating surfaces of the pot & lid (not news to regular cast-iron users). There's nothing magic in how well it works for slow cooking but that may be great news to new cast-iron users. My wife is thrilled with the form & fit of the 2 castings and the great look of the product. We couldn't be more pleased with the purchase, careful packaging & speed of delivey!

I read the reviews, including the one in The Test Kitchen's Dutch Oven book and those on-line, then I saw the price at Sam's. Had to give it a try and went with it. Follow the directions on the box for seasoning the rim of the lid and pan and you are good. You have to remember it is a cast iron pan covered with enamel to a point. Just give the edges of the lid and pan a rub with oil now and then, just like cast iron pans, and you should be fine. Love this dutch oven!

I've had this pot for several months now and I love everything about it. It cooks evenly and goes into the oven as needed. One caveat: it's very heavy. If you have hand issues, you will need a partner to help with moving and washing it. I understood that when I bought it: it's cast iron after all. The Dutch Oven is now a permanent resident of the top of my stove. Happily, it looks great and matches my kitchen décor,

This dutch oven is quality. Very heavy and super functional. I can use it stove top or oven. I have purchased one for just about all of my family members. Giving a gift of a cleaning product or kitchen anything is usually a re-gift but not this item. The price for the value is over the top.

Really well made product at a great price over comparable Dutch ovens elsewhere. Good sized bottom surface but still fits on my largest ceramic cooktop burner in the front. Yes it is heavy as all of the larger ones are. I got mine in a purple eggplant color and I am quite happy with how it heats up and maintains heat cooking at a simmer even when I lower the burner temperature. Made a large pot of Bolognese sauce with meatballs in it and it cleaned up pretty easily. Great for stews and slow braising larger roasts with vegetables. Can go into the oven after searing meats or sautéing vegetables for longer braising times. Just keep a level of liquid in it to avoid scorching the bottom.

Ive been looking for a good dutch oven for a while but the prices for some are ridiculous. After using this one a few times I can honestly say that its amazing and so is the price! I even bought a second one as a gift. The size is perfect for soups, chili's, or roasting a chicken in the oven.

I love this dutch oven but the lid on it is so heavy I wish I would of checked it out in the store before I had it shipped I wouldn't of bought it but it's a beautiful dutch oven. I wish they would put in the ads when something is heavy when you go to buy it just so people know. It's not like I live 5 miles from Sam's I live 40 miles from there but I will keep it because I do like it I just don't like the lid. I bought 2 of these...

I purchased this more for the aesthetic than the functionality. I am renovating the kitchen, and thought this would look beautiful on the stovetop. I do plan to use it though! I also love the gold handle on top of the lid - perfect for my white and gold kitchen!
