Hello PJ. We are so sorry to hear about your experience with the Dash 8" Express Waffle Maker. We would recommend that you spray a non-aerosol cooking oil on the surface prior to using. Most of our recipes recommend pouring about 1/4 cup of batter at a time so the waffle cooks through evenly.
