This is a problem even in the heat of summer. I have purchased my onions from other places, and never have a problem. When I go back and try these again, we always have bad sections in the onions. Perhaps these are shipped in with their milk, that comes in frozen. I have seen it sitting on pallets, in the produce section, while it thaws out. I worked dairy for Kroger for years. Milk shelf life is greatly reduced when it has been frozen. Several gallons of milk went bad on me before I found out what they were doing. Onions should NEVER be refrigerated.
