Nice looking and the top was deep enough to plant a few small mums however when it is full of water there was not enough pressure to hook a small hose and water plants. I am currently using it to fill a water canister which works nicely.

Nice barrel. There are 2 different spouts, which is helpful. One to drain it if, need be, and the other so you can get a bucket/watering can under it.

Bought this months ago and had new gutter installers “install” it when gutters were installed. The just stuck a downspout over the screened area so it quickly filled with water. But the spigot I bought doesn’t screw in - anywhere on either barrel.

My wife and I purchased 3 of these but they are NOT 50 gallon. Calculating volume using the actual measurements of the storage area yields about 37 gallons, NOT 50. Even if you add in the area of the flower pot area, (which is not storage) it still yields only about 42 gallons. False discription.

I like the look of this rain barrel, Purchased from Hayneedle but concerned about the rateing of the material its not bpa free. Wonder how that will affect growing vegtables. Will the chemicals in the plastic leach out into the water. If they do I dont want to use it and will purchase one that is BPA free. I have no complaints about how it looks or the hardware it was semi easy to put the spigots in. They fit tightly we havent had any rain so can't say how it will do holding water. But do think I will make a larger opening at the top and add a larger screen. It will be free standing and not attached to downspout.

Needs to be leveled and a pipe from the roof to barrel added.
