For salads, this was a disappointment. I ordered four of these as we prep salads on Sunday for the weekday lunches. We used to use mason jars (dressing on bottom, then lettuce, toppings on top), and it worked well. I thought these would provide a better solution, but ultimately they haven't. For starters, the lid doesn't seal to just the bowl if you remove the compartment tray. Therefore, you CANT mix the salad in the both, put the lid on, and shake it to properly dress a salad. This was a big disappointment. Either make it where the lid can seal with or without the compartment tray, or otherwise allow the compartment tray to be flipped upside down and fit inside the bowl so the lid can still lock in place. Having to manually toss the salad (as all know) just creates a giant mess and make it hard to properly dress a salad. Further, while it says dishwasher safe and microsafe, only certain pieces are. And when they arrived the actual instructions indicate not to use the dishwasher to preserve the 'seal' of the dressing cup and the lid on the bowl. So you end up with a LOT of dishes to handwash if you want to try and preserve their use. They indicate only the bowl should go in the microwave, but not for long. So not the best for soups or other dishes that they may need an extended heating time in the microwave. Also, the tray should be microwavable, as typically you would heat up the protein (chicken, whatever) going on a salad, and the bowl is already filled with lettuce. So if you want to heat up anything in the compartment tray, you'll have to either empty the bowl first to use it, or otherwise get another dish to use. Lastly, and this is my fault (I should've thought about it), but compared to other to go containers that all stack within themselves, these do not store well. They are assembled and stored, and they're quite bulky. Whereas other containers you can typically stack bowls and lid within themselves for more efficient storage. We don't use these for other meal prep, so their compartments and bowl may be more useful for other meals other than salads. But since advertise as the all-in-one salad container, it's ultimately lacking in actual effectiveness. I wouldn't buy it.

I found out about Bentgo from a friend who always finds the perfect ideas. This salad bowl is one of those, I love that my salad no longer gets soggy from things I can now store in the tray above. It's also a perfect place for nuts and seeds. The dressing container is the exact right size and the fork on top is genius. I have used this so many times and it's a must-have for salad lovers. I bought this bowl in August 2022 and use it for lunch in the office. It's easy to take and keeps my salad fresh. One of the snappers broke in April 2023, and the customer service has been amazing! Within 2 days, I had a brand new bowl. I love this company, the quality of the products, and how well they treat their customers.

I purchased this for my middle schooler who loves bringing salads for lunch. She loves that we can pack the toppings and dressing separately so the salad/cucumbers/croutons, etc. aren't soggy by the time she can eat it. The included fork is very convenient, as is the dressing container which holds more than enough dressing. And the blush marble color combination is so pretty!

This is a great salad bowl. I purchased a few so that I could take healthy lunches with me for work. I can prep all of my salad ingredients ahead of time, and keep in the fridge for several days, and because of the separate compartments, nothing gets soggy like it would if you just mixed it all together. It's also nice that the fork comes with it, so you don't have to remember to grab one from your silverware drawer.

I bought the salad container so that I could pack salads for lunch and I'm so happy I did! The salad container is the perfect size to fit in the classic lunch box and it makes meal prep easy. The top has compartments for salad toppings or fruit or other snacks. I like to use it for cheese and crackers. It also comes with a mini container for salad dressing which I love.

I would love to give 5 stars, but there is a quality issue. The hinges break easily, hoping Bentgo fixes this. However their support is awesome. I have had the hinges break on 2 sets, but customer support has been quick to replace them. I hope whoever designs these will fix the problem wirh the hinges soon. But they keep sending replacements so all is good.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife likes to make me healthy lunches, and I begrudgingly eat them. I normally have my lunch box filled with various containers to have just 1 healthy meal. When she put the Bentgo Salad container in my box, I was intrigued. It looked pretty cool, and was a definite space saver. I opened up this world of tiny compartments holding my salad fixins all in this compact gadget, topped off with a fork! I like that I had everything within my reach and it took up no more room than a typical food container. I enjoyed assembling my salad and only using 1 container. It was also very easy to wash. I highly recommend this, for anyone!

I really love these salad bowls. They are perfect for lunch for all- for me in my office/ classroom, my husband on construction site, and my daughter in elementary school. Great size and love the compartments in the top. However, I have now had 3 out of 4 break. The small tab on the side of the locking handle breaks off, which then allows the handle to come off, which then does not lock/ secure the top pieces to the bowl, not sealing it, making it totally unusable. It happened to my first one within 6 months of purchase. I thought it was a fluke, got a replacement sent to me, and it happened to it after just a couple months. Now it has happened to another one within 6 months of purchase. We only use them 1-2x a week, and not every week so its not like they're getting excessively used. They are hauled in lunch boxes and backpacks, so not thrown around either. They're either washed on the top rack of the dishwasher or washed by hand. I want to love these but I'm so disappointed in their durability and short life.

Bought 2 of these for my kids lunch, and find that the "airtight" lid is not so great. When I contacted customer service, their explanation was that the airtight lid was referring to the cutlery cover, which is definitely NOT the case. She said you should expect things to still leak and they recommend using a leak proof bag and making sure the salad container never gets tipped over. I am super disappointed that this is advertised as a salad container, in which you would pack reasonable things like tomatoes, strawberries, and other fruit which may have some juices, but it should not leak the way that it does. I'm even more appalled in the total lack of effort from customer service and the insistence that "airtight" referred to the fork compartment and not the actual lid, which is absolutely not what is advertised!
