We slept on the mattress for 33 nights then went to the retailer seeking a refund invoking the 90 refund policy. The mattress is too firm. Both my wife and I slept poorly and got up each morning sore. An exchange for a softer Tempurpedic was going to cost an additional $800 and that became an excessive expense on top of the high price of the original purchase. We chose not to buy it. We are both 60 and of average height and normal weight. The best thing I can say is the refund from the retailer was no hassle.

My prior non-Tempurpedic bed was almost 20 years old (the bed was finally sagging and causing pain in my hips and lower back), so I decided to purchase a Tempurpedic Adapt because of all the great reviews. The bed was extremely uncomfortable when I purchased it - like sleeping on the floor. Never realized foam could be so solid. I spent a lot of time in my recliner those first couple of months, which should have been an indication to return the bed. Even though it would have cost me. I thought to wait it out and it would get better. The bed has helped alleviate my hip pain, but I almost never sleep more than 4-5 hours straight any more cause of the pain in my upper back, shoulders, and neck. The only bed I have slept on that I have never been able to 'sleep in'. Additionally, I find it difficult to roll over and will wake up before rolling over. The bed is well made - it's not a cheaply made foam mattress. Just wish it was comfortable. I know that I could have Spent More Money on an upgraded model that may or may not have been softer. Or I could have paid less for a quality pillowtop (inner spring) from a reputable brand. This bed will soon be going to the guest bedroom - nobody will want to stay very long.

It is not quite as "soft" as we would have anticipated with a medium firmness. After seeing all the rave reviews and paying the cost of this mattress, we were anticipating "game changing" sleep, but that has not been the case for us.

I love it now! I sleep like a baby most nights. The best part is that it never feels like I'm sleeping on indentations. It always pops back to a flat surface. I also have the power adjustable base that I use sometimes, but without it I still sleep great. A+

We have spend 32 of the last 34 years on a waterbed. As we have gotten older it became more and more uncomfortable but we were afraid to move to a "real" mattress. However, after spending several nights just getting used to no movement at all, we are sleeping absolutely wonderful. We have been surprised that we enjoy it as much as we do. We would highly recommend it!

We purchased our first Tempur-Pedic because we were not achieving a good night's rest. My husband purchased one without either of us testing it out prior to purchase. The morning after our first night's sleep had us thinking we had made a mistake - we ached from the top of our heads to the bottoms of our feet. The reason was that our bodies were out of alignment from sleeping on a mattress without proper support. After a few nights on the new mattress we were getting a excellent night's rest and our bodies were back in alignment. It came time to replace our Temper-Pedic and because there are no retailers in our beach area we ordered the same model we had the first time. I would not suggest ordering without trying the options out prior to purchase to make sure an appropriate model fits a customer's needs. We had a lucky experience our first time. A testament to the quality of Temper-Pedic mattresses is that after 15 years our first mattress still provided a good night's rest. As a result, we had no body realignment issues with the new mattress. There is no other mattress we would choose. I recommended this mattress to a family member who was also very pleased.

We bought the Adapt split king. The mattress makes the worst noise when you move around. The two mattresses separate and leave a 5 inch gap every night! The mattress is more like a medium-firm. I would rate it's firmness a 8 which is too hard. The floor model was softer but of course it had been layered on for years. I owned a BeautyRest before this and wish I hadn't got rid of it. I'm so sick of this mattress.

Our mattress started out great but after a couple of years my wife started complaining about back pain. We are discovering that she is sinking towards me now while sleeping. The mattress loses its support over time and Tempur Pedic knows it! They have explicit statements in their 10 year warranty (which we were unaware of) that don't cover changes in firmness/support and they will only honor the warranty if your mattress is sagging more than 3/4"!!! That is ridiculous and just shows that they know their mattress won't last! Ours is sagging ~1/2" at the moment but the firmness / support is what matters more and they don't care about that! So just passing on our experience so that you also don't assume that Tempur Pedic is a reputable brand and decide to spend over $2K on a mattress that you will have to discard in a couple of years. Most of the positive comments here are only within the first year but if you look through the bad ratings you'll find some people that cared enough to come back and try to warn you. Read the warranty before you buy and see for yourself!

I purchased the Tempur-Pedic hoping it would help my back problems. Unfortunately it was just the opposite. It made matters worse. I am swapping it out for another brand and taking a loss on the money I paid for the Tempur-Pedic. Sorry, I gave it an honest try.

We thought this bed was a great buy and were excited to have it however I soon realized I was getting too warm when I wake up and need to move to a cooler place on the mattress. It was like the heat gets trapped. My husband on the other hand really enjoyed it at first but the longer we have had it, the more achy he has become and frequently has been waking up. We are both side sleepers and we think we need a softer bed also. This hybrid having 1/2 spring facilitates love making better than 100% foam but due to the aches and heat, we are considering a trade in for a traditional spring mattress.
