I am bedbound, though I can take care of a few basic needs when alone. On my back, literally, always is a challenge for any mattress, and I have tried more than my share. Though my first Tempur-Pedic transformed itself into a hammock over ten years, I remain convinced that this Pro-Adapt will allow me to rest without bed sores for another ten, perhaps longer. This is not my first rodeo, but am convinced it is the best horse to ride!

I opted for the soft after days and days of debating. I didn't want to spend all this money to start sinking in an ultra soft mattress. However, it's not ultra soft, I actually was nervous it was too stiff at first. It is the perfect amount of sink into it while still being super supportive. I actually could not figure out why I was having such a hard time waking up for work even though I wasn't exhausted and it took me a week to realize it was because I was sleeping SO good, I was just literally not used to getting that good of sleep. For reference I am 5 feet tall and 140 pounds. I feel that information is crucial in reading reviews on a mattress I want. I am very glad I did not get the medium.

Despite a delay in delivery, our mattress has turned out to be what we wanted. We went for the firm, which is similar to the conventional mattress we replaced, that was nearly 20 years old. It did take a couple nights to get used to the fact that it was actually firm (with reasonable give), but now after a month we are both sleeping well. Because we both tend to sleep in multiple positions, back, side and prone, I'm pleased that it seems accommodating to any position.

When they delivered they wore masks, gloves and booties! Took our old mattress away and all the packaging! The first night was the best sleep I have had in years! The bed is cool, firm and contouring. Firm but not too firm. I was having a ton of lower back/hip pains with our old bed. We have had our Tempur-ProAdapt bed for two months now and I am still getting restful pain free sleep.

We tried another memory foam mattress (trying to save $$$) and ended up returning it. Once you sleep on a Tempur Pedic it's hard to switch to anything else. Originally we planned to get the soft version, but after testing out the different models in store we opted for the hybrid. We are both side sleepers and needed a "soft"mattress. For those looking for soft model I recommend testing this hybrid. It is actually very soft yet has the firmness for sitting or laying on the edge.

My first Tempur Pedic lasted 12 years. I chose to purchase a "In the box mattress" only to return and purchase the Pro-Adapt which we love dearly. Last time I settle for a lesser product. Now I wake each day fully refreshed.

The twin XL is idea for couples to pick the right kind of's comfort yeah it's 8 kind of comfort you each may need. My wife need ed the medium and I need ed the soft. We are both happy campers and the thickness of 12" is truly to their words as I took a tape measure to it all around. This is our 3rd temperpedic and it's has been worth it!
