As stated in some of the reviews, the shape of these are atypical, but not in a bad way necessarily. Would have been fine with them, but the gold plating is already coming off some in less than a month. Don't expect it to last forever in the dishwasher, but our last gold set went 2 years of heavy use before beginning to lose color.

Not even close to matte black, they’re like chrome

I’ve had this black flatware set for about a year, and I’m impressed with its quality! Even after frequent use and washing in the dishwasher, it still looks like new. Highly recommend for anyone seeking stylish and durable flatware.
