I am also concerned with chemicals for my family and pets, so I only use it on my front lawn, My back lawn is a mess, but I feel safer for my family.

However, on the south side of my home the lawn seems to maintain the same amount of crab grass each and every year. ed sternad

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product worked perfectly in my yard, which by the way is mostly in the sun. The only thing I did wrong was that I missed the EDGES of my lawn and that's where I had some crabgrass. Otherwise I was very satisfied with this product and will use it again this spring!

This spring was my first time using halts crabgrass preventer. Like every scotts product I found it easy to use. I had a few spots with crabgrass last yr so I decided to apply halts this spring so I would be safe. We'll I have crabgrass everywhere now.most likely from last yr. Seeing I only applied it a month ago I will give it some time to see if it kills it off. I use scotts products only from soil to mulch never had a product not work like advertised. So time will tell

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've purchased Scotts 4 step lawn program for at least 10 consecutive years and each year my front grass is great, with crabgrass at a minimum. A few get through, but they're easily removed , or are contained to a single spot because it cannot easily penetrate the thick lawn. A super product.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product really helps get the lawn going and does a really good job at preventing crabgrass, if you get it down in time. Timing is important, follow the directions. If your neighbor has crabgrass it will spread into your yard during the summer, but this will prevent it from growing initially in your yard.

This product does exactly what it says, turf builder and crabgrass preventer. I skipped it last year (for the first time in 10 years) and my grass was yellow-green and over-ridden with crabgrass. I'm not going through that again. I applied the product about 3 weeks ago and check out the photo I took today of my lawn on the left and my neighbor's lawn who applied nothing on the right. Nuff said.

I follow the Scott's program religiously and find that the halts with crabgrass preventer is probably the most useful. The other products don't show the same results as this one. Probably more of just a ritual for me now to use the others.

My issue with the halts product is that I still have crab grass although that could be the result of something out of my control ( neighbor's diseased lawn could be creeping onto mine).
