My lawn has been overrun by crabgrass and clover. I have a 1/3 of an acre and this product has killed more than 80% of the crabgrass. Some areas are yard to get to. I have a lot of clay and hard ground to deal with. This product is taking care of the crabgrass and most of the clover has disappeared from my yard.

My lawn looks fantastic. I had areas of not so great grass growth, but after applying and with the help of good rainfall and cooler weather, my lawn looks fantastic! Looks just like a professional lawn treatment. I will definitely follow-up with the remaining products throughout the season.

So far I have found no such product. I have used Scotts products for everything from starter fertilizer ,seed, weed control to winter fertilizer.

The amount of crab grass that appeared was less than the previous year. I suspect it will take another couple of years of use to knock out all the crab grass. Wish it was more affordable.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Here in the North East US crabgrass plants do not survive the winter temperatures. However the seeds are the problem... and the solution. You are not trying to kill the plants from the previous season you need to kill the seeds/seedlings. Each plant made MANY seeds last season, but applied correctly... and killing the vulnerable seedlings at the right time makes for really effective crabgrass elimination. Crabgrass preventer is PREVENTER not a killer of established adult plants. Once the crabgrass plants are really established this product is not extremely effective. Put it down too early and it dilutes before the germinating seeds are of easy age to kill. Wait too long through spring and the crabgrass is too developed to easily kill without using something stronger and maybe harming your lawn and yet not killing all the crabgrass. For really good results.... IT IS ALL ABOUT THE TIMING. FYI - You don't want to do put down lawn seed at the same time (they would be vulnerable too).

In Texas I used Vigiro for St. Augustine, but for a Bluegrass/Fescue mix, this is the best there is. I also like the fact that it is very tolerant of over application and generally doesn't burn if you apply a bit more than prescribed.

I applied at the proper time in the spring but by July I had a lot of crabgrass. When I called Scott's about this, they said it only lasts 4 months (I had applied it 3months earlier) and I'd need to reapply it. If it's pre emergent, I shouldn't have had any crabgrass. My neighbors didn't have any.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Turf Builder may be a little more expensive to use but in the long run the biggest expense with lawn care is human energy expended when using the product. Rather than repeating an application I prefer using a better quality product from the beginning. So spending a little more at the beginning prevents having to re-apply again.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this product every spring for the last 20 years. It is easy to apply with little residue to clean up from your spreader. Crabgrass is non existent and my lawn is green and plush for many weeks.
