I put it down in mid April, and there is no crabgrass through the summer months. I highly recommend this product and using it with the Scotts 4 Step Program.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've tried this product for many seasons and when applied as directed in early spring, the crabgrass starts coming up by July and never stops until the first frost. If the product worked to prevent crabgrass for the season , I would be ecstatic ! It is very frustrating to see Scotts fail with this product .

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am a firm believer in Scott's products. Every year I start the season applying Scotts Turf Builder with Crabgrass Preventer. I find that it thickens the lawn and prevents the Crabgrass seeds from the past season to take root in the spring. Word of caution do not seed your lawn until the fall since the Crabgrass preventer is killing the crabgrass seeds your seeds will also be affected.

When I bought my home there was crabgrass in the entire lawn, as well as the neighbors. I tried other brands and was not having much success so I decided to give your products a try. I set up a Scott's Lawn Care Plan, and the results have been amazing. Today my lawn is lush and virtually crabgrass free.

Apply it as soon as the ground begins to thaw in the northeast as part of the four step per season approach and the lawn remains thick and healthy without the crabgrass and minimal weeds. Usually can spot kill the few weeds that break through but I also use the weed/feed to maintain grass health.
