My #1 Sponge

I love using the Scotch-Brite Non-Scratch sponge on all my pots and pans. I can really get the dried on, baked on food off without a lot of effort, and without the use of harsh chemicals. I just use plain dish soap and the sponge to clean my pots and pans and I'm always very happy with the results. My son is getting his own apartment at college in the fall and I plan on sending these sponges with him!

Scotch Brite scour pads

I love these pads. I use the heavy duty on my stainless steel cookware and cast iron. I use the multi purpose on everthing from my glass cooktop to my travertine floors. I also use it on glass corning and pyrex dishes and my stainless steel sinks without scratching the surface. I give both of these a 5 rating.

How the mighty have fallen

Much like the other recent 1-star reviews... we recently purchased a new pack of sponges and after 1 use, they are deteriorating and falling apart. They literally disintegrate while soaping a coffee cup. We thought it was just a fluke but are now on our second sponge and it's doing the same. Also wanted to point out that on leaving this review you are required to answer the following question, but selecting a 0 (would never recommend), you receive an error stating you answer the question. The error goes away by selecting 1 or greater. Nice way to make sure you control the responses.

poor sponge and scrubber adhesion

I dislike this sponge for one reason - the sponge and the srubbing part of the Scrub Sponge separate very quickly so long before the Scrub Sponge is worn out it becomes useless as a unit. You have the sponge part with an unattached scrubbing part to work with. I can't believe that poor quality glue to attach these two pieces is necessary. I use the green pads and they never have this problem. It surprises me that everyone who reviewed this product has only good things to say about this scrub pad.

Save Your Hands and Your Pans

Forget about having to scrub hard to get sticky stuck on messes off of your pots and pans. This little sponge takes the work out of having to do dishes. One swipe or two over the mess on your cookware and the food comes right off. The best part is that it saves your hands from having to scrub and scratch to remove baked on food, which also means that there is less of a chance that you'll damage your cookware. Thanks Scotch Bright for another great product!

Once a Month

Our motto is Once-A-Month because once a month we grab a new sponge. Primarily for the kitchen we clean the stove, sink, refrigerator, microwave, counters and just about anything that needs it. Some people claim sponges are unsanitary but if we have issues we just run it through the dishwasher! The scrub surface is perfect for those hard to clean moments and it is wonderful to just flip it over and wipe away the grime. The old sponge gets relegated to the garden or workshop where it gets used until it falls apart!

It doesnt scratch my fine cookware!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Finally, a cleaning sponge that cleans but doesn't scratch the ceramic coated cookware that I have! I have looked long and hard to find something like this; when I received my free sample, I was so excited. Scotch Brite has lived up to its name and description again! They have not disappointed with this product. I can't wait to find this in the stores; I will definitely buy more.

Holds up

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The kitchen dishes sponge gets a lot of abuse. Left dirty in the sink, food particles left in the sponge, etc. This one holds up! Not only can I rely on it cleaning well, but I can also get away with throwing in the dishwasher which extends the life of the sponge! Really a great sponge. It's the only sponge I will buy.

Blue Color Leaches into cleaning water

Purchased an 18 pack of these and am disappointed that the "new" sponges when freshly removed from the individual cellophane wrapper actually leach blue dye/color into cleaning water. When sponge is immersed in the clean water, a blue discoloration of the water occurs and becomes a deeper blue color as the sponge is used and squeezed out more each successive time. This is plain, clear tapwater held in a tupperware container and the surface being cleaned is a glass mirror (so no dyes or other substances are leaching from the surface being cleaned or the container). Packaging containing the 18 sponges (each individually wrapped) indicates "Made in Canada for 3M with globally sourced materials. Cat. No. 36618-4TPL-C 34-8716-6645-8" With this discoloration occurring in the clean water, there is no wonder I keep getting a slight haze on the mirro when I wipe it dry! Seems to be an issue that prevents a proper cleaning! Have previously used this product for years and not noted this problem. Is this a "globally sourced materials" issue?

Hello - Thank you for taking the time to leave your review. We are sorry to hear of the trouble. The vast majority of the pigment is bound to the cellulose sponge. It takes only a minute release of pigment to color the water and may make the water appear dirty or the color of the sponge. It sounds like your pack may have received a little extra pigment. This should rinse out. If it does not, please connect with us directly at 1-800-846-8887 M-F 8am-4:30pm CT, so we can help.
