The waffle maker does get very hot , but within a few minutes you have waffles and the perfect breakfast. It's easy to clean up , and doesn't take up very much counter space. The nonstick surface make clean up a breeze. The cord storage makes it store in a tidy manner. I was unable to fold the handle to have it store more compact, but it does store in a more smaller manner with the size and the way that it will lay.
