Got this the other day and was disappointed at first due to the fact that it stop running shortly after starting. So I took off the Main access panel for the engine and move the choke lever. It ran find after that. But the next day it would not start. So knowing something about engines I could see that it has an automatic choke, so took the other side panel and traced the wire coming from it to find the choke wire was disconnected, so I hooked it up and restarted it. Been running fine so far no issues. So far as sound it is quiet, but maybe not as quiet as the one Northerntool sells.

I bought this generator for our first dry camping trip with our 24' travel trailer. It was easy to hook up as we only needed to plug in our 30 amp shore power cord to the generator. We used it about 3-4 hours every morning on a 3 day camping trip, and used less than a half tank of gas. We used our coffee pot, toaster, microwave and our electric fireplace for morning heat. The generator performed as advertised, and was very quiet. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking to power an average size trailer.

The unit started upon receipt and adding the provided oil. We went dry camping and the genset worked initially. I started having issues later that day. Would crank and not start. Then after a bit, would start. The next morning, no joy.Would not start at all, just crank. I looked up i4500 issues and found there is a Westinghouse service bulletin. I followed the instructions, but found that I needed to remove the side cover to get to the connector area. Bottom connector was almost out. Reseated connector and wrapped with electrical tape to ensure it doesn’t happen again. Put the covers back on and it works perfectly now. Here’s to hoping that was the only issue. MY SUGGESTION: Perform the below check of the connectors as soon as you receive the unit. It might save you some campground headaches.

Likes- Easy set up and break in, I like how it comes with a screw on funnel for the oil no mess or over filling. Absolutely love the remote on/off feature. As we do a lot of dry camping with cold mornings Love the large fuel take as it runs several hours without having to refuel, It is extremely quiet on eco mode. I really like the digital display. I bought this in June and used for the 1st time over the July 4th. Issues during 1st use. went dry camping used for about 4 hrs. to run our AC to cool off the RV ran fine no issues after turning it off for about 3 hrs. when I started it back up it acted like it was lacking power, then the red overload light came on even though nothing was hooked up. i removed side panel to access the carb thinking maybe the choke was stuck that seemed fine, I drained all the fuel thinking bad gas nope, it got dark so I called it a night. Next morning I started it back up ( it starts right up just no power ) I try everything can think of, fuel, air filter, spark plug all seem fine as I am listening to it run I notice and hear a hissing sound coming from the exhaust I noticed a screen over the exhaust and think ok maybe it is plugged as I go to remove the screen it has a larger funnel screen inside ( i assume it is a spark arrester ?) it is completely caked in black soot ( not sure why after just 4 hrs of use) I remove the whole thing firepit up runs perfect. 2nd Issue is this will not start in the cold mornings, ( choke I believe is not operating properly ) I have to remove the side panel every morning to move the choke manually to get it to start. I now will be contacting Westinghouse to take it in to get it fixed. I will let you know how that process goes.

I’ve been borrowing my buddies Westinghouse IGen 4500 for several weeks now and I have been extremely impressed with this generator. I recently bought my own, my family and I like to camp off grid in our rv as much as possible throughout the year. This generator has been able to keep my air conditioner, all my appliances, plugs, lights, tv, and some other equipment running at one time during the summer and does everything I need it to do in the winter aswell. It’s very quiet so you can have it running at night while everyone is sleeping without bugging or waking anyone. It shipped to me in perfect condition and required very little work to get the generator started and running. I give the westinghouse IGen4500 5 stars because it deserves it.

I bought this because I did not need to power much- a refrigerator and a few fans. Wanted a quiet and fuel efficient unit since we generally need it for days after hurricanes pass through. Light and easy to store. This checked all of the boxes for me.

I just received my new generator and I love it. The things I love: It has the correct receptacle for my RV (don’t need adapter), data display so you know exactly how much fuel/load/run hours, electric start works great, the manual that comes with it covers everything even has parts break downs and part numbers for replacement parts and service parts, and has a large enough capacity to power my entire RV with room to spare.

Beats the Comparable Honda Model/Size/Watts in Quietness, Features and POWER! I really like the Digital read out for all the Run time, fuel level, run time left, etc. Remote Start and Electrical start worked for me every time. The wheels and pull out handle work great. I was worried at first from photos that the telescoping handle and wheels could not handle the weight on grass and mostly flat dirt with a full tank, but it rolls around with ease! Good build Quality. The plastic housing surrounding the generator frame and motor has good sound deadening stuck to it on the inside. Durability is ok enough. It's definitely not a slam around Generator. Remote started worked for me right away and even at it's first start up. Power output is as advertised. If you buy this From Home Depot you can get an additional 3 years extended warranty for additional cost on top of the 3 year warranty Parts and Labor that Westinghouse provides. 6 years total coverage! Remember to follow the Owners manual for first start up and break-in period. Do not over fill the generator with Oil and you will LOVE this generator. I got the gas only Model because the Propane one was out of stock for ages and Gas is more available for me anyways. Put in Fuel stabilizer and you got good gas for at least a year if you keep this in a garage or dry shed. I bought this to be used in California because of the annoying PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) that are happening every fire season in California. I am also using this for camping as well since it's so quiet and portable enough.

I've only ran the generator about 8 hours, but so far it's been good. Not as quiet as I was hoping, but for 4500 watts quiet. The electronic features, output, fuel level, hours remaining on fuel, hour meter, etc. are very nice and conveniently displayed. Tools, funnel, battery charger and remote start are bonuses that add to this generator. Service points/ports are much more convenient than other quiet generators. The wheels and retractable handle, as well as the carrying handles are great. It also started up immediately, with no use of a choke. I hope my future experience with this generator will be as good as the first 8 hours.

I just received my new IGen4500. It was super easy to get rolling with nothing you have to put together. Started right up and really quite. The remote start and handle to move it around are both going to be great. Got fit use with rv and I can start and stop from inside the rv.
